Our party of native Scotians all ordered the chowder to start and we were very excited for the rest of our dinner as it was very good. Unfortunately, it kind of went down hill from there. Waitress was very kind, but when we asked about why all restaurants in the area had no fried scallops, shrimps or clams on the menu she politely brushed us off with no answer. Seemed like a simple enough question for a local and you can usually get them all season at smaller local diners throughout the province - even northern New Brunswick. The town has a Digby vibe so it was just a bit odd and dissapointing. Our ceasar entree was overdressed and kinda gross. This was all easily forgivable but then our side poutines were very cold. The waitress returned them and when she came back she made the mistake of telling us they were just popped back in the microwave/oven and it was visibly evident. It's one thing for us to be dissatisfied with our mains and expect them to be remade - but some fries and cheese? We never saw her again and had our table cleared and bill given by another employee with the poutine that we didn't eat still on it. Beautiful town, but overall dissapointed and we'll try somewhere else...

We walked in around 7:30 pm the waitress said they were full looking like about 45 min wait can we text u when a table opens I said sure. 50 mins gone by not text. Went back around an hour later. My friend walked in person behind bar heard door shut but didn’t turn around. Another waitress came up to her asked if she could help my friend told her we were in earlier they took our name number about an hour ago haven’t heard anything back just wondering how much longer. The person behind counter turned around and said we stopped taking anyone a half hour ago Not taking anyone else in. It was 8:30 pm by that time I was not impressed with the service. She didn’t even apologize for any inconvenience Just sent her away. The problem with that is we were there over an hour ago and were told they would have a table later for us. We didn’t just show up at 8:30 expecting a table. We went to the marina bar and grill who were very friendly and the food was great and served food till 10 pm ended the night on a good note I work for tourism and won’t be sending any travellers to their establishment. This is terrible...

We had a big group of 20 people and we were coming in on a Saturday. I called a week before to make a reservation and everything was good, but they didn’t ask for my phone number. When we showed up, they made up a story that they didn’t take reservations, and especially for groups of 20. They then made it sound like it was our fault we didn’t leave our number so they couldn’t tell us they don’t take reservations. They then offered to split our group up and spread us out around the restaurant, which was completely the opposite of what we wanted. The staff were happy when we offered to go somewhere else. We were going to get appies but decided to not give them our business because of this and just ordered drinks instead. Somehow drinks are difficult, because our order wasn’t taken until 30 minutes later, and they weren’t even busy. The servers were nice, however they messed up some drink orders and caused lots of confusion during the payment process. We definitely won’t be coming back here next year with...

Food was delicious. I had a seafood chowder which was one of the best I've had on my trip, and also haddock tacos which were good but I thought the taco was too thick for my liking and there could've been a bit more flavor. My partner had the seafood casserole that he said was delicious. Service seemed slow. I didn't think it was super busy, but it felt like we waited a while for our food. We did have 5 people at our table so maybe that's why it was slower? We had 2 people in our party with mobility issues, so we did learn that the ramp has some ledges that were difficult for them to push up their walker. The ramp was also quite far from the main entrance, if the side door was open it probably would've been easier. And we had to drop them off at the front and then park since there is no parking directly in front of the restaurant unfortunately. There is a parking lot in the back but I didn't notice how access was from that side.

A beautiful spot! We were seated right away! The waitress was very kind and the service was good! We are on the patio which was very relaxing. We had the haddock and fries! It was good but nothing special for what we’ve experienced along the coast of Nova Scotia. The portion of fries were very small and they tasted over cooked or cooked within an air fryer. The fish was good - a different approach to the batter flavour which was nice if you like your batter flavoured! The fish tacos were a 2/5. A nice flavour but temperatures and balance of filling through it off. There were no condiments for food or coffee on the tables which was a dislike and did have to go in and ask for what we needed more of once. Not a big deal but did stand out! The view was beautiful and the location is stunning. We had higher expectations for the location and being a hot spot for travellers crossing the ferry but was not a bad experience by any means.

The staff members were wonderful. We were seated on the patio (which is beautiful) and one woman came around with blankets and mosquito repellent as the sun went down, so thoughtful! There were no interesting gluten free options so I settled for a salad, but my husband said that his shepherd's pie was the best he's ever had! They offer flights of local beers, and have a selection of ciders as well.
