Anchor Café — Restaurant in Port au Choix

I had the Hungry Skipper (seafood platter) Pros: Very nautical, and a good environment. Lovely tartar sauce, very tasty scallop, and good coleslaw. Also, a good selection of beer, and welcoming attitude. Cons: Coming from a Newfie, the seafood didn't have a lot of taste, especially the Cod. We had to dig through a mountain of croutons to get to our salad. Also, the waitress didn't bring our seafood sauce and tartar sauce till half was through our me. Overall, a very nice nautical experience with friendly service. They have a very nice selection of food. But it's a real shame because I wanted this place to be really good. Stopped in for a late lunch today at the Anchor Cafe and boy was it ever good. I have eaten in every province in this country and beyond, I can honestly say this is the best lunch I have ever eaten. I had the halibut and chips, it was cooked perfectly. The halibut was tender and delicious. My partner had the halibut and a fresh garden salad which they paired with a home made dressing that is to DIE for. Practically everything on the menu is made in house and they've done an excellent job. We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, the service was exceptional and cleanliness is impeccable. Almost 6 years ago, 21st of August in 2017, we dined at Anchor Cafe. We returned & again had a great meal, great service & highly recommended.
