I would like to preface this rating by saying that our server that helped us was fantastic which is the reason for the 5 star review for service. Tonight, my family and a group of friends were in town for a wedding. We decided to dine at Izba due to its location close to our hotel. My wife and I had our 11 month old twins with us and while waiting for our food, our twins were having a good time laughing with their aunties and uncles. After waiting what was an abnormally long time for our food we noticed that a miserable older couple a few booths back from us, were not happy with the volume of our group and the sounds our babies were making. They repeatedly glared at us and made faces as if the sounds of laughing babies was the most disgusting sound on earth. Normally this situation rolls off and to each their own in terms of opinions. We noticed that the sour hag had gotten up to complain about the noise and we could clearly hear them talking about us and our children very rudely. Again, this situation would normally have not held any weight on us but it was at the point of complaint that we overheard another server empathizing with them and saying how sorry they were for the volume. A more appropriate action would be to inform the nasty couple that unfortunately happy babies make noise and to maybe seat them in a dark quiet corner so that these sewer trolls could feel more at home. The fact that the server essentially validated their complaints made my wife severely anxious to the point where she left with one of our twins without finishing her meal. The rest of our group was also put off with the situation so we opted to pay and leave. The night was going great until your staff chose the wrong side, and actions to deal with the situation and we will not be returning or suggesting Izba to anyone we know. A secondary note from one of the members of our party was that the fish ordered was extremely over-fried and the spaghetti squash in the spinach feta chicken were undercooked cold and bland. Can not in good faith recommend this location after the situation your staff helped foster. If you have small children, avoid...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS I was really excited to try Izba, given its reputation for authentic Polish cuisine, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for.
First, the service was extremely slow. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, our server seemed disinterested and hardly checked on us. We had to flag them down multiple times just to get basic things like water refills.
The food, which I was looking forward to the most, was underwhelming. The pierogi were bland, lacking any real flavor or seasoning, and the filling was far too dry. The borscht was greasy and tasted more like something that had been reheated multiple times rather than freshly made. It was also way too salty, which made it hard to finish.
The manager/owner, when I raised my concerns, was dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than apologizing or offering a solution, they seemed indifferent to our experience. Itâs always frustrating when management doesnât take feedback seriously, and it only made the situation worse. It felt like they werenât interested in improving their service or maintaining customer satisfaction.
Overall, I wonât be returning. There are plenty of other places offering better Polish food and a much more welcoming dining experience. I would not recommend this...
Read moreThis restaurant was a hugely positive surprise. I've driven past it for a long time thinking it was something else altogether and then a friend told me it had Polish food. Looked at the menu and found Pierogies and kielbasa and all sorts of dishes that reminded me of Ukranian and Polish dishes I had as a kid. I got a wonderful breakfast with pierogies and kielbasa, eggs and toast. Really good. There is a hint of dill in the pierogies which I normally wouldn't like but was at a good level and quite pleasant, but the dough was amazing: tender and thin almost like my Grandma made back in the day. Highly recommended. I will be going back to try potato pancakes and some of the hearty European style meat dishes on the menu. Service was attentive but not rushed and friendly. Pricing is reasonable for the portion sizes. I'm told by my friend that when she has gone in the past she was able to get a meal senior-sized a bit cheaper than the menu price for the full size, but I didn't specifically verify that, so ask if it is available for your selection if you want a smaller portion but still want to participate in...
