I made a reservation online 2 days prior to the actual day of going there and I had put in a request for a private room since we had a few people coming to the birthday dinner and also it was our first time taking our 2 month old baby out to a restaurant so we wanted to ease her into getting used to such public settings in terms of noise. On the day, I had to call to see if they do have our reservation since there was no confirmation from their end and they said yes and I asked about the requests I had put in and they said it depends on whether the people in there already leave or not. I found that a little concerning because if you knew the rooms were booked I should have received a call or email informing me that it is not possible to get the room and we would have made a decision accordingly. I figured it might be a little mistake. When we got there I was told there are people in the room already and they don’t know when they will leave, and that I didn’t give them enough time, I asked how long of a notice do you need and she said 2 days prior, I was speechless at that point because that’s exactly what I did. I requested to talk to the manager and he said I should have requested to get a call back confirming! How does that make any sense. He was rude about it. And honestly you could tell the he didn’t t care and pretty much told me it’s not really his problem. We ended up getting a round table that was close to the kitchen meaning high traffic dues to the waiters walking back and forth. You could tell the manager really didn’t care. He even told me that there’s no way I could have gotten a room anywhere because they are booked for months, so why wasn’t I informed when I put in the request? What’s was the point of putting my email and number? I would have made arrangement accordingly. It’s very disappointing. Lovely place but absolutely poor customer service. Not going back there whether it’s for meeting or birthday dinners. It’s not worth it at all. Customer service...

Review Edited*: See below 1st review

1st: First and foremost our server was phenomenal, our needs were checked on fairly sporadically by a few individuals, but at least they were attentive. This 2 star review has little to do with the servers, they're the only reason I gave an extra star.

I brought my daughter here for her 10th Birthday for a special treat, it was her first time.

*The meal was surprisingly not as good as expected. The salad was small but fresh, the lobster tail was definitely overcooked, (I'm from Nova Scotia, I know lobster!) and the roasted veggies were underdone.

My daughter decided not to get the birthday special dessert, (Billy Miner Pie) Instead she had vanilla ice cream, with chocolate fudge on it. She loved it.

The servers made it a lovely experience, but the food was rather disappointing.

I left a significant tip, but we're not sure we'd go again.

2nd: The manager was fairly quick to respond to this review, and I sent an email to The Kegs requested customer service support. The response was, they were apologetic for the meal being not up to their normal standards, and I was to receive a Keg gift card.

The card I received wasn't even for the total compensation for the lobster meal, which surprised me. We have yet to give the Keg in Prince George another try, after doing so we will be sure to update the review.

*3rd: We finally got a chance to use the gift card we received from the previous visit. I'm happy report that this time The Keg was phenomenal. We were happy with all our food, the service was phenomenal. I would highly...

My husband and I were visiting from out of town and decided to go here for dinner. We made reservations ahead of time and when we got there, they seated us in the bar side and when my husband asked to be moved to the actual dining area they told us they had no tables available even though it was completely empty aside from 1 table being used and now it only gets worst from there. When we arrived there was a woman sitting alone completely passed out. Several employees tried waking her with no luck. My husband had to tell them they should probably be calling 9-1-1 and they told us that was there "next step" another 20 minutes or so goes by with them trying to wake her up a few more times, still with no luck. It has now gotten to the point where the EMPLOYEES are actually checking this woman's pulse to make sure she's even alive and hasn't died of an over dose. This restaurant literally had untrained employees checking this woman's pulse AND STILL WERE NOT CALLING 9-1-1. My husband and I were blown away. The young manager finally comes out again after probably 30 to 45 minutes and I guess decided at that point he will finally call 9-1-1 and they arrive within 2 minutes. Oh yeah and all while this is all going on theres 1 woman who works there trying to make jokes to us about the situation.

So at the very least, they could have taken our request to move tables so we didn't have to dine right next to this situation but no they did not even have the courtesy to do that at this location. Very awful experience and would never...

I have been going to the Keg since the 70s but in Prince George since the mid 80's. This place is a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. I have never had a bad meal here, and I have had many memorable food experiences here. The Steaks and Prime Rib are excellent, I miss the big salad bar they once had and the big wine karaffes of frozen daiquiries. They once served oysters Rockefeller, which were my all-time favorite. There is almost nothing on the menu I don't like, and the appies and desserts are outstanding as well, especially the Billy Miner Pie and the Cherry Cheese Cake. Also, check out the limited time specials they have on various seasonal items like fish and seafood. The most memorable thing I ate here was a perfectly grilled chunk of honey miso glazed sable fish. Wow, it was incredible. If you have a special occasion or want to impress your wife or girlfriend, this might be the place to go. The service is good, though sometimes they put a bit of priority on the alcohol, and drinks can really rack up the bill if you don't watch. Trust me when I say this. So if you go here I am sure you will have a good time.

We accidentally made a reservation for 5 instead of six at 4:15 (the only time they said we could get in). Upon arrival we were told we’d need to wait until 9:30 for a table that could handle six. Apparently there was no way to seat us. My aunt and uncle bowed out because it was my brother’s birthday. Dinner was ok, but not great. The sad thing is that in the 2 hours we were there, we were virtually alone in the room where we were seated. It wasn’t booked. Clearly. It kind of ruined the night. Later the manager asked if everything was ok, and he seemed nice, but I didn’t mention it. I’m Karening-out here instead. I know it’s cowardly. The hostess wasn’t very nice. She also told us to go to Crossroads down the street. I recommend you do as she suggested.
