So I'll be forthcoming about this, I didn't go through with ordering from here. I'll list some pro's here first.
The place was easy to get too just off the town main road and a big gravel lot next to it made stopping off here crazy easy. The place itself had a rustic look with creaky wood floors, and aged wood if it had a small wood swing door it'd feel perfect for a wild west shoot. Very insta-shot worthy. Sadly that's kinda the end of positives, as the others in my party attested.
The con's were; from my experience. As I was in line, witnessing flies enjoy all the baked goods they were handing out to patrons, I pointed this out too my party and they immediately changed their minds on the food (they still got drinks though). The food was just next to the till and espresso machine, next to 2 people, not even a swat to keep them off the food. But hey, a 1 foot glass panel between the people in line should help right... 2 flies landing on the same Dollop of whip cream? Food standards guys.
Then the odd question from the guy behind the counter "Why are you wearing a face mask?", "Because I want to?", "Your in a free country you don't need to have that", "I know. I want too", seriously? Questioning someone on their choice to use PPE? Just because it's no longer mandatory doesn't mean persuade people to ditch it. Sadly this happened to the person most excited to visit here and they left ashamed of recommending it.
Lastly I didn't have internet at the time so I didn't know they had an actual menu, I only saw the pastries left out and the beverage menu. So I don't know maybe have it posted near the till. It's not impossible I missed it somewhere but we were looking for a menu and only saw beverages menu laying on a table infront of the till.
I honestly hate to rag on a local shop but to the owners recommend just closing off the pastries in some manner, making the food options more prevalent and as for the anti-PPE worker, maybe an...
Read moreI was visiting Princeton because my sister bought a place up there. Went for coffee and snacks ☕. I had a chai latte and my sister had an Americano. Then we split a croissant and a homemade Boston cream donut. OMG... That donut. Let's just say you get what you pay for. This is not Tim's. I heard the girl at the counter tell someone they order their croissants frozen from Italy. I could have that wrong.... But the croissant was amazing. This place is near the river and got hit by the flood. They had their flood permit posted on the door. I noticed the floors were a little more slanted than last year. Those poor people... Still digging out. Felt good to support a local business and they are every bit as fine an establishment as anything you'd find on the coast. Also, I guess they got famous in Princeton because of their Welsh cakes, sort if like mini scones with raisins and nutmeg. Bought a bag. They never made it back to the coast with me. Gone by Manning Park. Yessssss, my precious! Great place to eat, awesome old town decor... Wild west meets Italian...
Read moreStopped by for breakfast order a egg bagel sandwich and coffee was given a beeper and told that it would light up when my order was ready. Waited at a table outside for about twenty minutes and saw one of staff come out with a sandwich in a basket. She stopped at the table next to me and spoke to the two guys and went back in. The guy at the table digs into the bagel and says nice free sandwich. I head in and ask about my order. The guy preparing food says oh that order came up a while ago. I showed him the beeper and he said sometimes those don't work. He spoke to the girl behind the counter and told her she would have to make the bagel again. She said "he should have picked it up" and walked back to the cash register. The guy behind the counter said my coffee was still here and point at it. I picked up the French press of coffee and mentioned it was barely warm and he said that becuase it has been sitting. No offer to make a new one just went back to make other orders. Can't tell you what the food is like becuase £...
