The third photo is from June 13th. I got the Chicken Waffle ($23) and Mango Passionfruit Lassi ($6 not pictured). As for the other 2 photos, those are from June 6th. I actually wasn’t going to compare the two, but I unfortunately had 2 very different experiences.

June 6th, I went out for lunch. I was super upset that my taste buds had not fully came back to me, despite being at the tail end of the cold. But, I could tell that the chicken was moist and the mango lassi smoothie like. I was happy with my service and my food.

June 13th, I went out for lunch, ordered the EXACT same order. The restaurant was a bit busier. My lassi was exactly what I wanted it to taste, it was heavy, had grenadine in it this time and tasted strongly of mangos with a sourness of the passionfruit. The flavour of the chicken was great and it was moist again. I also love that they put curry spice on the chicken before it’s breaded. The waffle was also very flavourful without being too sweet.

Unfortunately this is where my praise ends. The side salad needed more dressing, the service was quite slow, the menus desperately need to be wiped down, my waffle was very thin, and the price is quite high for what you get. As for the service, I had to alert another server and ask for maple syrup, no one checked on our food (except for the one that I flagged down), our plates weren’t cleared, and when my coworker said “excuse me” to ask for the bill, the worker ignored him and walked past to seat people standing at the door.

There’s also a lot of inconsistencies with the food. Firstly, my mango lassi today had grenadine in it where as the one on the 6th did not. Second, the chicken was tossed in seasame seeds today but the last time they weren’t. And thirdly, the most disappointing, the waffle was half the thickness of the last one. Perhaps they got a new waffle maker, but I see this as a downgrade since the last one was a lot thicker.

I’m not sure if I would return for lunch as the portions are small. But I will give...

It’s been awhile since I visited but I genuinely did enjoy my experience at this establishment. It’s a very small and tight space so there are definitely some tables that I can imagine aren’t super comfortable to sit at (luckily we got a good spot further to the back Beside a window) If you don’t mind feeling a bit claustrophobic it’s cozy and it’s decorated really nice. There are lots of plants…lots of dead ones too lol and beautiful natural light that pours in. Only negative is that they don’t have their entrance set up well with an effective procedure for welcoming customers in and seating them. When I was there my party and I were ignored left standing in the lobby for 10 ish minutes before a waiter finally came over and told us he would be with us shortly and then we still had to wait for another couple minutes while he dealt with taking orders and bringing out meals (somewhat understandable as it was busy and there were only two staff members out on the floor) The waiter was friendly and chatty but it was a bit of a wait for the food. Food was good! I actually received a different variation of what I ordered (I can’t remember what the name of it was) It was an English muffin sandwich and on the menu there was a shrimp version and a non shrimp version I received the shrimp one despite ordering the non shrimp one but whatever I ate and enjoyed it anyway. However, if you’re someone with an allergy I would be careful at this place if errors in orders is a trend. I also ordered a specialty coffee and it was...

A Lovely Saturday Brunch

Food

Back Bacon Eggs Benedict

Eggs cooked perfectly Great toast on the English muffin Hollandaise didn't appear to be broken Breakfast potato rounds too thick and needed something to elevate them, a good seasoning might have helped Breakfast potatoes appeared to be pan fried instead of deep fried, which is totally fine That said, in addition to the addition of seasoning to help them along, a nice crust to provide some crisp / texture could be good as well Salad greens added a nice freshness to the plate Only complaint with the salad greens is that the vinaigrette didn't seem to make it to the salad greens but instead was in a puddle under them Not a deal-breaker but it would be nice to get some of that vinaigrette with every bite

Cardamom Chai Latte

Nice foam The addition of cardamom an all-time favourite This drink was as good as I needed it to be

Service

Kudos to our server who seemed to be working alone for at least the first 30 minutes of the cafes opening both hosting and serving. Everything went smoothly from being seated, having our order taken, receiving our order and settling our bill. Our server was attentive, efficient and polite. No complaints here.

Atmosphere

Rustic Charming The plants throughout were nice, would probably be even nicer during spring / summer Lovely setting, view, also likely to be must nicer during spring / summer

A lovely Saturday brunch experience. Would return if ever visiting...
