The decor hasn't changed much since the place was known as The Chimney. Place was packed with lounge folk, apparently drinking rather than eating. It was our annual work Christmas gathering, so can't really rate the service - it was passable but didn't stand out, which was expected given the 20+ people seated at our table. Ordered something called 'Giggle Juice' (sangria) - it was bland and had very little fruit - a lime wedge and a lemon wedge. Wouldn't order again. For the main, I tried to order the house speciality pork souvlaki, but they were out. Instead I ordered a medium rare 10oz. strip loin steak - it was done to perfection, with a crisp sear and great flavor. The sides, however, left much to be desired - undercooked carrots, lemon roast potatoes that were both burnt and raw ... but the steak made it worthwhile. Prices were competitive depending on what you ordered - some items were comparable to high end steak places -$40 for filet mignon, for instance. All in all, I'd say it deserves another chance with a smaller crowd ata less busy time!

First and foremost, I absolutely LOVE that their door is a book case. It enforces the “Speakeatery” vibe. Before another fun Soul Shift Saturday, we had a lovely dinner. I got the Saskatoon Berry Pork Belly. After tax, it was a high price of $29.97. While the price is steep, where else are you going to get such a meal in Regina? The gastro pub is a vibe. And the pork belly truly was a fall apart tender slice. While the berry flavour was not as strong as I expected, it paired very nicely. Whoever designed this menu is creative and knows what they’re doing. I’ve never had spaetzle in my life but I’m converted. It’s a type of German Egg Noodle and honestly I’m very much a fan. I’m honestly not much of a drinker and tend to default to something easy. I would like to see more cocktails on the menu or a cocktail special for the weekend. Or maybe I just need to pull the trigger and try something new! Either way, Tommy’s has my foodie heart. It’s a good place to get really nice food. The staff are always extremely down to earth, no matter who you get.

On Monday June 2nd, around exactly 8:08 pm. I got two small pizzas with 2 toppings. This place didn't let eat in or on the backyard tables because I have my 3 year old with me. And children are not allowed on the premises. It was a special for 8 dollars each and I have a 2 dollar tip. I was parked right front, showed the waiter Shem my car. To bring my daughter to the playground across the street. The waiter, says his name is Shem. If that's not correct. It's the light skin black guy with blond highlights. We waited patiently. At 8 51 I eventually went in. Shem saw me and went in the kitchen/back, and got my two pizza immediately. I said this is so wrong. He initially said, it would take 15. Shem lies, said he can't control the kitchen. I disputed his lie, and he admitted that he forgot. When we went to the park, no one was there. 30 kids, gone. Shem offered nothing as competition. To management, contact me. Cold pizza. I should go in and get a refund too. Not nice. Bad service.

First off I will say the food is amazing ! Take out may still be of consideration, but not dine in. This negative review is of no bearing on the kitchen in any way.

A reservation was booked in person as we were unable to get through via phone. It was booked with a staff member with a ponytail behind the bar and was booked for 8-10 people. It was never booked for 12. We had 7 to start, 2 more came so we pulled an additional table over as our initial spot reserved only had room for 8, and one last person came making our group a total of 10. Had we booked 12, why would we have been given a table for only 8 people?

Our server came back to confirm our order a total of 4 times. On the 4th time he advised he didn’t have a pen or any paper to write the order down on. One order was forgotten, but comped in the end. When the bills came it was not noticed that there was an automatic 15% gratuity included in the bill, and most had already paid when one in our party noticed this. It was questioned and the server stated it was automatically charged with a big group. We have gone out together many times for wings and never been charged this before. Had we not been chatting and noticed this charge, we would not have tipped an additional 15% over and above. This is sneaky as it was not told to us at time of booking, or any time during our time there. When we called later to ask what was considered a large booking we were told any group over 12 and the day manager would have stated this etc. we advised we only had 10 and were told it wouldn’t matter if not everyone showed up it will still be charged. Yet your prior reply stated it was forgotten to be removed, so which is it? We again tried explaining and were called “honey” and was rudely asked to please let her finish. Once we did so we tried explaining again and was rudely interrupted so we asked to not be called Honey and advised we would not be back! The purpose of the call was to get clarity, which we did receive, and we did check your website which does state any party over 12 is subject to 15% automatic tax. It does not state regardless if your party remains 12+ people. It also states any booking over 16 people requires $100 deposit. We were never a party of 12, we never booked a reservation for 12, we booked in person for 8-10 people. Having said this there was another group of people of similar size so I am suspecting we may have been confused with them, not sure. There are better ways to handle customer concerns and speaking condescendingly and/or not allowing a customer to speak, and calling them “honey” are likely not the best ways.

The irony here is a server reached out to one of our party members today asking if they can contact them to try to rectify this, and then a very rude reply to a google review from one in our party was provided instead. There are many ways to review a business and one is how negative experiences are handled. Reviews can be updated as satisfaction can be obtained or agreed upon, if the bigger picture can be seen, not taking things personally and lashing out to the customers who are the people bringing revenue into your establishment.

As stated before the food was amazing and take out may be an option down the road, but dine in for me was a poor experience to say the least.

Response: I was not abusive to your staff. We disagreed, which is not abuse so please do not make defamatory comments towards me. If we booked a reservation for 12 why were we given a table for 8? We questioned the bill, the server went and asked and was told that’s correct. I called and was told that is the charge and now you say it was an admin error and we can be refunded. That was not offered while there, or after. Anyway, we will agree to disagree and move on. All the best, signed previous customer who will not tolerate being treated in an abusive manner by an establishment in any way. I wasn’t the one name calling, yelling, or talking in a rude way, that was you guys. Our group will carry on spending our money at other establishments that appreciate...

Food allergies or dietary restrictions beware. Went here for lunch today for our last hurrah before our baby arrives. Total waste. I ordered the Vegan Burger which from the name of the burger, it implies the burger is vegan. It arrived with mayo so I asked the waitress if the mayo was vegan. She checked with the chef and she told me it isn’t. The waitress and the chef proceeded to argue with me that it’s entirely my fault for not specifying that I wanted a ‘Vegan burger’. We double checked their menu and they have clearly updated their menu recently indicating which items are ‘Vegetarian’ and which items are ‘Vegan’, if this burger is in fact not Vegan, it shouldn’t state that on the menu. She also told me that the bun isn’t vegan either and they could remake the burger for me but it’s not their mistake and I should have specified. Not sure how much clearer I need to be that I want a ‘Vegan Burger’ when that’s what I ordered. They remade the burger for me with a flatbread which according to their menu, is what the burger should have come on in the first place. When we went to pay, the waitress again reprimanded me that this was in no way their fault and that I need to be specific when ordering the Vegan burger. Again, clearly the chef is aware of the difference between vegan and vegetarian because they offer both on their menu. I couldn’t be more disgusted with the way this restaurant handles their mistakes and honestly for a Saturday afternoon the place was empty. If a restaurant wants to make money and have repeat customers they should honestly take care of the customers that are paying to eat there. With the economy being the way it is and the number of restaurants in the city, no one has to eat at a restaurant that couldn’t be bothered to own their mistakes, fix them and make every customers experience a good one. Very disappointing. Further, labelling food items ‘vegan’ or that it doesn’t contain certain ingredients to better help those with dietary restrictions all of which end up being false or mis-leading is a HUGE liability. Not worth the risk...

THE OWNER RESPONSE IS A TOTAL LIE!! A reputable business would accept their mistakes, try to make up for their error and would be respectful to their customers, they wouldn't lie and say their customers are lying just to try to make the bad review look false. Still no apology and only want contact to help them with their theme? If anything they need to work on hiring, training, soft skills and policies. Correction to their erroneous response: We definitely did not change our tune or emotions, they never asked if we had allergies and we definitely didn't say we can pick anything off - that conversation never happened, as the waitress never even gave us an option. Now not only were we treated badly in the restaurant, they're slandering us for calling them out on their terrible service, training and lack of policies. (The tomatoes were not the only mess up) DO NOT GO HERE. There was no gangster photos and a few old pictures of the city does not equate a speakeasy theme, you must feel like you're in the prohibition area, not Bushwakkers. ORIGINAL POST: There was two of us at the table, waitress got both of our orders wrong. When we advised her of the issues she blamed the kitchen, said she was going to give then hell, did not apologize, did not offer to remake the food and offered no compensation. The food was dry and had no taste. There was no speakeasy theme in the restaurant or lounge. Don't waste your...
