I took my partner and nine month old baby to this location a couple days ago. My partner ordered a pizza with bacon on it. After receiving the order she realized that the pizza didn’t come with regular bacon but ‘back bacon’ or essentially a piece of pork that resembles ham. The menu didn’t specify that this wasn’t going to be the usual bacon like the entire world assumes when they see the word bacon. I informed the waitress, whose name is Romena, that we wanted to send it back, and she said no because “that’s the way they make it and everyone knows that”. My partner is from Alberta and hasn’t lived in Regina that long. I also never order pizza so I don’t know the pizza off by heart. It’s also just weird that romena would think that everyone should know that trifons in Regina sk. uses back bacon on their pizza?! This also is not specified on the menu!! I proceeded to tell her that we won’t be eating the pizza and would like to send it back. Romena became hostile in tone and said that we ordered it so have to pay for it. All of this was occurring while romenas son, who looked to be about 7 years old, was sitting in the corner watching and waiting for her to be finished work which was a little awkward. I ask to speak with a supervisor and she tells me that there isnt one here. After she begins to argue with me about the pizza more I tell her just get me someone else to speak with please because she is being rude. A few minutes later another server whose name is Mallory speaks with me. she asks what the problem is in a not so friendly manner. I tell her the same thing, calmly. Mallory proceeds to speak in a rude tone as well. This is all occurring while my baby is present. I finally say that I’ve never been treated like this in any restaurant. Which is true. Finally, Mallory says that she will take it off the bill and tells us that she will inform the management to change the menu.
Fyi, when you don’t like something or if there is false advertisement like in this instance, which rarely happens, the server should take the item back. Usually there is courteousy or you’re offered something else from the menu. You don’t usually have to argue or feel mistreated in a place where you’re paying to be served.
This experience left us feeling upset, uncomfortable, and shaky even after having to argue with two servers.
I’m a usual fan of the trifons restaurant chain but an experience like this has made me not want to eat here ever again. This location’s management needs change your menu to clearly specify items like bacon or back bacon, get some training or reprimand the two servers, or maybe change your policy if this is the type of service that is encouraged.

Since the owners/management are supporting this behaviour with their response below, I can see why these servers treat customers like they do, it says a lot about management. Which I also thought the manager wasnt in the building that day so I’m not sure how they would know what happened?
BTW we didn’t get a “free pizza” lmfao because we didn’t take it with us. We left it on the table. Half a slice was eaten before realizing it was back bacon. Seems they’re trying to deflect from their poor management skills. We paid over 80 alone without the pizza and have posted the receipt. :)
Ugly service and management. Do not eat at...
Read moreThis location used to be good with great service and good food. Lately it's gone from bad to worse. Finally I've had enough and won't be visiting this location again. I order directly through the restaurants whenever I can because I want to avoid paying another service and taking money out of the restaurants pocket but it seems like their own staff barely knows the menu (multiple times I've called in and had to explain their own menu to them). When I picked up my last meal I noticed it was much more than it should have been, unfortunately I was misinformed about something on the menu and ordered the wrong size due directly to that misinformation. No attempt was made to refund the error even though I was overcharged and I believe it was there error. As well things were missing that I had to return for...I would have expected something at least because of that, even just the cost of what I had to return for knocked off the bill. Not one person there seemed to care that their customer was upset and had his evening ruined because of their errors. The food has gotten to the point as well where it doesn't taste the same anymore, it seems like they've gone from making their food to thawing and assembling. A good restaurant creates dishes, a poor restaurant orders everything frozen and assembles it... if you know what I mean. The food here now is more like something I could get out of the cheap section of the grocery freezer aisle yet their prices definitely don't reflect that with recent increases, I know everything's gotten expensive but I don't believe the quality reflects the cost anymore at this location. Don't get me wrong I understand that a lot of things do come frozen but most places try to elevate their food where I feel this location no longer seems to even care. I wish this place had stayed the way it was with good food and good people but everything changes. I'll be very interested to see how management chooses to respond to this review after reading the hostile comments they've given about other people on reviews. Have...
Read moreI enjoy Triffons because it is so close to the University and the $5 schooners is a money saver for a student. Also they have WIFI. The staff has always treated me well. I think there is a fine line of interaction when it comes to staff. I feel annoyed when I am bothered too much even if it is convenient and I feel neglected or my business is unappreciated if I am ignored too long. Also sometimes there are body language and physical cues that indicate you need assistance. Because for some reason in Sask or Can you feel rude asserting yourself in public. So to pick up on these very complex factors and navigate this weird social form of interaction is an art. I feel that this staff had done so. However, I reserve the fact that a person can have a bad day and it is also my job as a human to pick up on these cues. I too am navigating these social behaviors and the goods and services contract we enter into is not the dominant factor which determines how we engage with each other. It is respect.
All I want is google points so I can buy...
