Chingu Korean Restaruant 친구 — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

This is a very homely Korean restaurant. The service that you get here is phenomenal. They called me back a short time after my takeout order was placed to let me know that there would be a slight delay and I should come about 15 minutes later than they first indicated. Upon my arrival the dishes were packed very cleanly and ready to go. Once I got home I noticed that the side dishes were missing on my order, I called the restaurant back and the quickly recognize the mistake took my address and had the side dishes delivered to me within what felt like only minutes. This type of customer service and recognition of what is a very easy oversight is very hard to find in today's day and age. The food was very tasty and the portions were very generous. Even the fried pork was packed separately from its sauce, so that it stayed crunchy when we ate it. I ordered a chicken katsu and my wife had a tofu seafood soup with rice.

The chicken katsu is excellent in the way that it is crispy while preserving the juicy texture of the chicken meat. It is usually hard to accomplish as the meat will be easily dried up after deep frying. The sweet and sour sauce is also different from other restaurants I visited. Well done!

The tofu is also very smooth. The taste of the soup is so balanced that you can enjoy a spectrum of tastes, namely, the spicy flavour, seafood, vegetables and tofu

The side dishes are nice. The owner is very generous in refill.

Last but never the least, the Kimchi will be a surprise when you chew it and enjoy its spicy flavour.

Today I visited this place around 6 pm. There was only one empty table. While my family lined up to wait for waitress guiding us to the empty table, four old guys cut in line and sat the table. I felt something not right so I asked someone in the counter that the table was under reservation made by them and she said "yes".

But the truth was that while I was talking with the counter, my wife was watching them cut in the line. One of them said in Korean, "did we make a reservation?", the other guy said "no" and smiled. We are Korean, we know what they said.

This restaurant does not treat customers fairly.
