I wanted to go to the restaurant next to it after re-read my review 😆 but I tried this restaurant instead. Again I ordered quite a bit of food to try. I wanna talk a bit about customer service. Right at the bat I liked the chill vibe of this restaurant. Like any other Cantonese place, they offer very similar options with evening tea & snack promo. Their menu is impressive with variety of noddles, pasta, regular dishes & rice combo and beverages (hot & cold). Some people complained about it’s not how it used to be, like the quality went down or the taste changed. This was my first time so I had no idea. But I liked what I ate. I think it’s worth the money. The last dish, ie steam ribs with rice in clay pot took a really long time to be done. I think they forgot it. Because after I finished the meal (30-35’) it took another 15’ for the pot to be served. I told server to put in the takeout box but she insisted to put it out first because it was hot. This, I was fine with and I ate 2-3 spoonful too after saying I was too full from my meal 😆 The restaurant was getting very busy so maybe because of it, service wasn’t the best. I was okay with every staff, even though they didn’t speak English. But there was this young blond server who came out first to serve the first 2 pasta. I told her to put on the table in the middle. She didn’t say a word, only stared at me. I didn’t know what she wanted. Later, after she put them down on the table, she told my friend it was very hot and & I took too long to clear the table. After that she never came to my table again 😋 I don’t wanna assume anything because I had no idea what was on her mind. But how did I know the plate was hot if she didn’t tell me. I think maybe management can look into this and invest in purchasing appropriate equipment (cart, or food delivered robot) Please don’t take it out on innocent customers 😉 we come to support your business, not to suffer your staff’s tantrum. In this restaurant, on the day I went, there were mostly family with kids, and seniors.

I come to this restaurant every week as it’s food is fresh and tastes are above average. The restaurant is very spacious, not the same as the average Hong Kong cafe. It has a lot of wide booths which allows people to spend valuable time to gather and chat. The servers there are super friendly and they greet every patron everytime when the patrons come in or leave the restaurant. When your glass of tea is almost empty, the server will come and refill your tea right away. They care about each patron and attend to their needs promptly. In term of the variety of the food, one can choose between western style of cooking or traditional Cantonese style of cooking. I can name a few of their famous dishes: Baked pork chop with fried rice in tomato sauce, hainan chicken with rice, house special pineapple fried rice, spicy chicken with rice and bbq pork and smooth eggs with rice. The price of the food is also very reasonable as almost every meal comes with soup and beverage. One of my favourite beverage I have to specifically mentioned is its “ying yang”. I order this beverage every-time in there as I cannot find another Hong Kong style cafe that can brew the same flavour. It is smooth and the portion of coffee and tea is just the right mix. I strongly recommend anyone to try this restaurant.

Large roomy place with wood motif ceiling and walls with plenty of booth seating Their baked mustard sauce pork rice was excellent, nice pieces of crispy pork covered in a flavorful mustard infused sauce. Something different from the normal cha chaan tengs and highly recommended if you're in the mood for something different. The bread for their pork cutlet sandwich is one of the better breads I've received when ordering similar sandwiches in other places. It's basically almost a true baguette. Has it's own flavor profile. A crispy crust with a soft moist bread interior, amazing and a pleasant surprise, who would have thunk. Only negative point was that the sandwich could have used more salad dressing to complete the flavor profile. When the service staff was asked to provide some extra dressing, it was at a cost of $1 extra. Come on now, is there a run on requests for extra salad dressing for their pork cutlet sandwiches that I'm not aware of. Nevertheless I refused to pay as a showing of solidarity to my fellow Yelpers, Viva la Revolution! This lack of flexibility will influence on whether I will return or not. Normally my principles can be compromised but paying $1 for extra dressing is an abomination. Oh Canada,,.................

There staffs are rude and unfriendly , and even scolding us and gave us rude body language to me and my friend when we visited. Their online ordering app was glitchy that day , this one of our order was doublely input , we realized it right the way when the order was put through and already asked a waitress for the amendment.

They made us waited 20 mins for a bowl of meatballs noodles , we still waited patiently. When we checked our bill, it was not being corrected, so we asked the waitress , Jennifer to come over to help to adjust the bill. She said it’s our fault we doubled ordered by the apps. Then, we explained to her it wasn’t our fault as it’s the apps was glitchy , the order didn’t passed through so we pressed confirm button again. And which we had already asked another waitress to correct the order record for us more than an hour ago. Ms Jennifer gave us a very rude response and without listening , she kept shaking her head and say that’s impossible it’s you guys’ fault. Then, we said the food didn’t served doubled and we told the other waitress an hour ago to change the record, which she didn’t do it, it’s not our fault !

We asked why ms Jennifer being so rude and gave us such an attitude when we were trying to explain to her calmly ? Do we deserved to be treated like this ? So we asked , why are you so rude to us and scolding us ? You don’t want us to come to your restaurant again? She rudely says “As you like! I don’t care !”

At that moment , we were so shocked on her extremely rude attitude ! We asked if she is the boss , she said NO , then we said we will let her boss know how rude his staff , Jennifer (we asked for her name) , is ! She said “go ahead!”

This is just ridiculous experience that I had never encountered. I will never go to this restaurant again until the day this...

Friends, if you ever go to this restaurant, do not and I really mean it, DO NOT order the Sirloin steak on a hot plate......it was the worst steak I have ever tasted in my life. The steak was so dry and tasteless as if it had been frozen for years......I asked for it to be cooked 50% but as soon as it came out with the sizzling hot plate, I cut the meat in the middle and it was at least 80% cooked. If you are going to cook the steak to that degree then why are you offering the choices in the menu of how cooked you wish to have your steak from 30% to 100%. That is so idiotic!!! And you charge $36.00 plus tax for a piece of meat that is dry and tasteless and overcooked. It is one of the biggest rip off that I have ever experienced. I can get a much better steak at The Keg for similar pricing. If the owner is so cheap to buy such low grade meat, then ask the chef to marinated it with baking soda or something else so that it is more tender. But instead, the chef is too lazy or do not care to make the food at the very least respectable for the amount that the customer has to pay. Only saving grace was the baked pork chop with rice which it was tasty and the pork chop was much more tender. The service was acceptable. I mentioned the problem with the steak to one of the servers and she was very apologetic which was very acceptable. I did not ask for discount to cancel the steak order and gave them 15% tip. It was not her fault but she also mentioned that the manager was off tonight.........I did not believe her but regardless, if anyone ever go to this restaurant, DO NOT order the Sirloin steak with the hot plate as it is...
