Restaurant Les Deux Frères — Restaurant in Rigaud

We stopped in, the family ,on our way back from a little gig in Vankleek Hill, and what an amazingly perfect dinner it was. My wife asked for a recommendation from a local, and so we find ourselves (2 parents and 3 teens) all with pizzas in their eyes, at the Deux Frères pizzeria, a vintage family style diner with jukeboxed booths and all. Our waitress, Anicka (sp?), was superb, and especially in coolly fielding all the "can I have the"s from our lot. Our order included two large onion rings and once gargantuan Hawaiian with bacon. The onion rings were large, hot, crispy and honestly the most fantastic example of this side, this side of the last 50 years and the equator. They were perfect. The pizza - it's sheer size at first somewhat off putting - was very large (think North Shore Oahu), and the not small chore of cutting and distributing, 3ft cheese strings and all to all five of us was deftly and humorously handled by Anicka. AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE CHEESE: The cheese, sourced from a local dairy, is hands down the best pizza cheese this pizza fan has ever had. Really a showstopper. Full flavoured, soft, super stringy and just exactly greasy enough. We are (my wife and I ) now mostly keto so bread of any kind is rare. We often don't eat the bread or crust of a pizza, but one bite, and it was good-bye keto, crusts and all. The kids have been around a fair bit. They've had real NYC pizza and quality sampled elsewhere in Montreal, and they all LOVED it. 10 was too low a number in their minds. The pizza here is sooo good. It is of a quality that others simply don't match. It might be a home made sauce that has a little "Je ne sais quoi" or the sheer quantity of delicious topings they put on the pie but we have dubed it: GOD pizza. When we have friends from out of town it is the obvious choice if we want to impress them. The next time when they come back they unmistakeably ask for GOD pizza again.

Les Deux Frères Pizzeria in Rigaud Quebec is a definite must-visit for a hungry family. Petula and Bill will greet you with lovely smiles and invite you to enjoy a truly relaxing and wonderful meal experience. The ambience is relaxed and they even have the old-style juke-box units at most of the front section tables (although they were out for repairs the last time I was there).
