We were really looking forward to trying this place out based on reviews we read. We felt fortunate because we beat the evening rush when we arrived as there were only 2 or 3 other tables seated. Got the order in with the original waitress in a reasonable amount of time- and then we waited. Waited and watched as numerous other tables were seated after us and were getting their food BEFORE us. We remained patient thinking that it was probably just a matter of some dishes take longer than others to prepare. Then- some 35 or 40 minutes after ordering- a DIFFERENT waitress comes over, and asks "Have we ordered yet?" Huh? We indicated that we did, telling her what it was we ordered (mind you that the original waitress is still in restaurant serving others but completely ignoring us.) So here it gets really odd- without an apology, this second waitress tells us that our order was misplaced and asks us pointedly "Well you have waited a while, do you still want me to place the order?" Of course she implied we could simply leave at this point. We were quite dumbfounded at this point- one, for no apology and two, for the implication of an attitude of - well we could at this point leave or they would simply place the order. We chose to have order placed again. When the order finally came, brought by the second waitress- she started to walk away and then came back to apologize for the wait. In the end- there was no offer whatsoever of any compensation for the incredible lack of service / delay we experienced. The food was good (definitely - not excellent) We eat out very often, and in the relatively rare event that there is some sort of mistake or serious delay in the presentation of the meals- 99% of the time, the establishment both immediately apologizes AND offers some sort of compensation for their blunder (either a free meal or comp dessert.... etc) Pardon the pun- but L'Innocent is actually Guilty of improper...

We were looking forward to trying L'Innocent, especially after reading glowing reviews about their vegan poutine—a rare find in Rivière-du-Loup for vegetarians like us.
Arriving at around 8:00 PM (an hour before closing), we saw two empty 6-person tables and several groups dining inside. We were politely greeted by a staff member who spoke good English—a relief since most places here are French-speaking. However, he informed us that they were fully booked and that the kitchen was closed. He added that serving us would take at least two hours, which was confusing given the visible availability and the fact others were still being served.
We left feeling disappointed and puzzled. As Asian vegetarians, we couldn't help but feel that we may not have been welcomed the same way others were. We sincerely hope this was not the case, but the inconsistency in the explanation left us with an uncomfortable feeling of being treated unfairly.
We had high hopes for a welcoming vegan-friendly experience, but unfortunately, we...

We ordered (1) Lamb with fried rice and (2) Pulled Pork with Tortilla. We were quite disappointed because both dishes tasted very very bland. The french fries that came with the pull pork were nearly charcoaled. The pork and the lamb seriously lacked flavour. Adding salt on them did not help…perhaps it could ruin the whole thing.
NOW. The fried rice - to say the least I was disappointed. Actually, I wouldn’t call it fried rice. It tasted like undercooked rice that had this weird burnt texture. I thought the white sauce that covered on top of the rice would make it better….but I was so wrong. It tasted just as bland as everything else.
The only redeeming things about this restaurant are the staffs and...
