La Cage — Restaurant in Rouyn-Noranda

We visited this restaurant at the new location which was much nicer then their old location. The woman at the desk told us one moment and walked away on her phone into the back and did not return. A man came down to help us and would not seat us at 4:45 pm as they had reservations at 5:30pm. The restaurant had maybe 5 tables full when we walked in. He told me EVERY table was booked for 5:30 (which I knew for a fact this was not true) and he can't help us! RUDE!! Moulin Noir which was down the street had Wonderful service and...

Some friends and I unexpectedly ended up in Val d'Or for two weeks on a business trip. We found many lovely places to eat in town, but La Cage by far was our favorite. We ate here almost ten times, and everything we had on the menu was well prepared and delicious. My favorite is the roasted salmon, but the brie & mushroom burger was another treat.

The best thing about this place is the service. Everyone who works here makes you feel welcome and valued as a guest. Any time I am in Val d'Or, I will make time to watch a hockey...

The quality of the food tonight wasn't outstanding, but the service we got from our waitress (and her colleagues) was. She was friendly, professional, and very willing to offer suggestions with food/beverage matches.
