I was there Sunday July 16 around 5:30-6:20 pm. f I just had the burger, this would be a 5 star rating. The burger was delicious, the meat and bun tasted fantastic and it was quick! the mustard had some nice spice to it. After we got the burgers, we went back up for ice cream. The till staff person refused to refill a water for a customer, misunderstanding I think, we insisted he go ahead of us to the window, and she refilled it after all. Then we placed an order for a sundae and a cone. After 10 minutes, and watching several food orders that were ordered after us go out, I asked at the window if our specific order number was coming. 15 min after ordering, I asked again, pointing out it was for ice cream and we ordered 15 min ago. She didn't have the order at all. She seemed to apologize genuinely. Then she made my sundae. When she gave it to me, it was about a third of a cup of ice cream. I asked if that was the right amount, it didn't seem like it to me. She said she could remake it if I wanted, not answering my question. The girl at the till told her she needed to. When they remade it, it had about double the first, so under a cup still, horrible value for the $5 sundae, but if it tasted amazing I would have forgiven that quickly. The sundae was awful tasting. Like watered down sugary chocolate. I'm not sure if it was the chocolate sauce or the ice cream that was watery. I didn't eat it after the 25 min it took to get it. Also, my husband's ice cream cone was hollow in the middle, they didn't put ice cream in the middle of it. Maybe I'll come back for a...
Read moreDrove out from the city on a Sunday evening. Very reasonable drive. There were 5 of us and we ordered a burger each: 3 fat boys, 1 double fat boy, and 1 cheeseburger. We split a poutine, a fry, an onion ring, and an order of chicken fingers.
The burgers all around were exceptional. The patties were substantial and juicy, but were slightly crumbly. The chili on the fat boys was meatier than the Winnipeg standards, which made it cleaner to eat, which was appreciated. The brioche buns were also a highlight. Soft and tasty, they did a great job of holding the burger together, which I find to be a downfall of most classic fat boys. 2 members of the party noted that there was a bit too much mustard, and we all felt the pickle was lost in the mix.
The fries were excellent, and of the thin and firm style. Very tasty! The fries were big enough for 2 people to share, and the poutine was even bigger. Very good gravy, but lacking in the quantity of cheese (typical of most poutines). The onion rings were on point. The chicken fingers were surprisingly good. We couldn't tell if they were homemade or not, but they were moist and crispy. The honey dill they came with seemed homemade.
The milkshakes (chocolate and vanilla) were "just perfect" according to Jessie (party member #3). Thick, creamy, flavorful. We finished the night with blue raspberry soft serve. Most of us found it lacking in the blue raspberry flavour, but it was definitely there and subtle, and grew on me.
Overall, an excellent drive-in experience. Service was courteous and quick. We will...
Read moreWe went to Cedar and Main Eatery for our first time, for dinner tonight. One burger was missing an item and the other burger was made wrong. My husband had the Big Momma Thang & it was missing tomatoes. He did not want to return his burger. I ordered the same burger with one change...mustard instead of ketchup. My burger was missing tomatoes, mayo and mustard, but it had ketchup on it. My burger was also cold. When I brought up the issue to the girl in the window, she argued with me & said maybe I have the wrong burger. I told her that the burgers were numbered on the order slip that was attached to the paper bag & the foil wrappers were also numbered. I chose the number that indicated no ketchup, add mustard. I also presented her with my receipt. The girl said to check the other burger but I told her that my husband would have already eaten it by now. She said she would get me some tomatoes to put on our burgers. I waited until she returned and told her I had specified no ketchup and they were to add mustard on my burger. My burger had ketchup on it, but no mustard and mayo. Also, my burger was cold. She shrugged her shoulders. I told her that I wanted another burger made, as this burger wasn't what I ordered. She reluctantly had another burger made. We had also ordered a large poutine & 2 milk shakes, plus I left a nice tip. The milk shakes were really good. By the time I got my new burger, I didn't even enjoy it, as I was so upset by the...
