I got married at Pineridge Hollow on June 2, 2018, and it was just excellent. This was the first place suggested to me when I began trying to plan my wedding (from a country away, no less) and no matter how many other venues I looked at, I kept circling back around to this place. I had never set foot in it, but the website was so thorough and the photos so lovely that I felt completely comfortable deciding on it before ever even seeing it in person. My situation was daunting (to me) and a little unusual. I began trying to make plans and book the venue etc., all within just a couple of months of the wedding. There were a lot of shifts in responsibilities around the time I started making phone calls (people on maternity leave, vacation, etc.) but it didn't take too long for us to finally get set up with our coordinator - Danaka. She was incredible, from start to finish. She was undaunted by the task I set before her. It can be a challenge communicating with two stubborn people, in different locations, trying to plan a wedding, but she handled myself and my husband in stride. From the first phone call, through all the emails, to our first meeting to solidify details, to the wedding day itself when she somehow magically was everywhere at once, achieving everything, and still putting a drink in my hand at the same time - she was just on top of it, reassuring, easy to work with. I honestly don't know how she did it. I was beyond thankful to have her in my corner, and truly grateful to have her dedicated to our event - something I didn't expect to have, being that we were having a fairly small affair - but she truly was and she was basically a Godsend. The way Pineridge Hollow runs these sort of things is simply amazing to me. On top of that, the food is astoundingly delicious, the ambience is wonderful, the grounds are gorgeous, and the indoors is lovely, as well. Especially the upstairs - with giant windows and all the natural light you could ask for, it is picturesque - I could go on for days. We had our ceremony outdoors and our reception in the upstairs of the restaurant and everything was simply perfect. I could not have executed it better myself, and Danaka managed to figure out exactly what I wanted even when I was struggling to explain it to her properly. Since I had never eaten there before, we did go the day before the wedding for breakfast, and I can assure you: whether you just want a simple meal in a lovely setting outside the city, or a smaller intimate wedding & reception, or a big one under a tent, Pineridge Hollow's staff seems to have a way of pulling it all off with a smile on their face and a positive attitude. I have so many good things to say that I could probably sit here and write a small novel, but I will spare you. I do want to say this though: to top it all off, they were so unbelievably kind to us - they let us commandeer a number of tables in the restaurant to store our stuff after my husband locked the keys in the car while we were trying to pack up. The wedding was long over, and we no longer had the room upstairs, but they found a place for us and gave us and our many, many things shelter from the rain while we waited for CAA to arrive. Their food is amazing, no doubt, and their store is filled with stellar stuff, but it's the kind of attention to detail they give everything, their dedication, and the way their staff treats people (with kindness, patience, and compassion - almost like while you are there you are a blend of valued guest & a part of the family) that makes a visit to their entire establishment such a great experience. You don't get that everywhere, and I think it's highly underrated these days, but you do get it here. If you are on the fence, whether it's about breakfast, dinner, or a milestone event you are trying to plan, you should give Pineridge Hollow serious consideration. In my experience, they will exceed your expectations by...
Read moreWorst experience ever and this is actually the first time that I will take an effort to go into my laptop to log in(change password etc just to air my disappointment) and write review. A brief background, did a reservation but there was some lapse on our part group of 10, we did not fit in one table so we were offered to eat out in the patio. The weather is not very friendly, it could rain or drizzle so we decided to eat there anyways coz the sun is showing up. Fast forward, we got served coffee and water. Then of course it started to drizzle so we hurried back inside the restaurant and see if we could go back to our reserved table and just squeeze in all to together. Unfortunately they gave it for walk- ins , apologized in fairness but we are right away told : Do you want us to pack your food and eat in the Village market???the food hasn’t been served by the way and would like to cancel if there’s no table , but says NO its prepared. Of course we got disappointed but they are quick right away sending us out, tried to argue a bit but the Asst Manager says: You were told that if it rained you wont have space! But nobody told us that. OK fine we made a decision to eat in the patio….but where’s the customer service there? . Right away suggested to go straight to Market Village ??.. So we did go to the market village with our packed foods. We headed there and OMG, it is closed !. We still tried to enjoy regardless since it’s a relatively long drive , we took out our brunch in the benches and table …and again started to drizzle. In the middle of the meal we packed again and gate crashed to Square village. Thanks Guys for accommodating us .Unbelievable by the way we have 2 children with us!! Went back to Carly Asst Manager to let her know that we were pathetically about to eat while getting wet. She apologized plainly so I can hear it, that she didn’t know its closed. The food is not even great. Asked if they could at least cross out the coffee from the bill since I didn’t even get a chance to get a refill, felt embarrassed that they might think we want to get freebie, the server asked the Asst Manager but didnt say a word and still punched the bill and worst with service charge holly!!!!, didn’t even took it out of the bill as a gesture of goodwill. Carly dear we can pay but we deserve a more humane treatment. Hope you’ll look into these circumstances as it may happen again. It was very very very very frustrating considering the pricey and dry food they served us!! This review may not be heard, I also emailed the General Manager but definitely not a good experience nor should happen to anyone. What mustve been done? Should take care of their customer and don’t be quick to send us out and showed no care. We felt judged and...
Read moreMy wife and I dined at Pineridge Hollow as part of a large birthday celebration. It has been a number of years since we last were there, and we were blown away by how developed it is now. Gift shops, clothing, greenhouse, etc. We didn't have time to tour around because we arrived just before our reservation, but we will make a point of going back to take more in.
In any event, back to the dinner review...
First, the service was outstanding! For a large group, our servers were dialed in and very responsive to all of our needs. For me, the service was the most memorable part of the evening.
The food was brought to the table promptly and was served in large portions. I started with an appetizer-sized Pine Ridge Salad, which was delicious and easily could have been shared or even made for a light dinner selection. For my main course, I had the pickerel fillets with fries and coleslaw. I didn't try the coleslaw, so I can't offer an opinion on it. The fries were tasty and seasoned well. I love pickerel, but I have to say, I was a little disappointed with it. The portion size was excellent and the flavour was fine, but the batter coating used fell short. It was very crunchy, almost too hard to chew and a stark contrast to the moist, soft texture of the pickerel inside. The texture contrast made fish seem a bit mushy, although it wasn't. I would love to see this fish done in a traditional breadcrumb coating; it would make for a more enjoyable dinner. I should note that several people in our party had the pickerel dinner, and many echoed my sentiments about the batter coating.
Overall, I felt that with drinks, food, )and even a piece of Schmoo torte to take home), the bill was reasonable.
Plenty of parking with wheelchair access for those that need it. I would assume all major credit cards are accepted. We...
