I am deeply disappointed by the treatment my friends and I received at this Tim Hortons location awhile back. As 17-year-olds!! at the time, we stopped at a nearby gas station to clean our car windows, and an alarm was accidentally triggered due to someone being locked in the building (as later confirmed by the RCMP). We left the gas station and pulled into the Tim Hortons drive-thru to order coffee and food.
While we were in the drive-thru, employees used their personal vehicles to block us in, both in front and behind, preventing us from leaving. They accused us of wrongdoing at the gas station and called the RCMP. When we exited our vehicle to try to understand the situation, we were met with aggressive and unwarranted behavior from staff.
When the RCMP arrived, they quickly determined that we had done nothing wrong and cleared us of any involvement. Despite this, no apology was offered by the staff, and we were treated rudely throughout the incident.
As a person of color who has lived in Canada my entire life, I couldn’t help but notice the racial undertones of this situation. This remains the most discriminatory and humiliating experience I have ever had, compounded by the fact that the owner laughed off my concerns when I contacted them afterward. The owner dismissed the seriousness of the incident, referring to the employees as “heroes” and promising to “have a word,” but no meaningful action was taken to address the harm caused.(real heroes harassing young girls)🙁
This experience was not only unprofessional but also deeply unsettling. I would strongly advise against visiting this location. I hope Tim Hortons as a company takes incidents like this seriously and implements better training for staff to ensure that customers are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity, regardless of their background.
To the owner: Don’t even bother responding. Your previous promise of a $25 gift card—which you never even bothered to send will not be keeping me from informing people know what you and few of the staff involved at the time were about. I haven’t forgotten about this incident, even though it...
Read moreVery seldom do they get the right order ,coffee is hit or miss & people do not seem to be as nice as before , where is the owner? He used to be there and is not watching his workers. He needs a couple of fake customers to monitor the place.
This is an update. If I could give a zero star I would . Honestly , you are a COFFEE place ,why can you not sell coffee that doesn't stir and taste like tar. We have tried repeatedly to get quality coffee and you used to have it ,but the last couple of years has been awful. We bought donuts, so hard that when I dropped one it hit the floor with a loud crack, ,cheese croissants, cheese biscuits , never there ,most donuts are stale and most of the time they look at you like you're an alien if you ask for a certain type of donut that ALL other Tim's sell. Why ? The last few items were so burnt we could not eat them. This is our fault for trying to support a place close to us --- no more, I would rather spend $20 on gas and drive to one of the good Tims in Wpg. This is the very last time --- rude help ,burnt food , tar-like coffee. Get somebody you trust and let them see what kind of trash you are foisting on the public. Try it yourself .We have gone fro m early morning to later in day and all days from Mon. to Sun. and 89% of the time we get garbage . Our own fault as I said ,but when this one opened it was good now unbelievably awful. We have wasted so much money on this Tims --- bad on us. I just wanted to say I would no and and truly sorry for saying it but I just can't let it go. We spend money on it because we haven't got the money to go too many places anymore and this was our little 'holiday ' and getaway ....
Read moreI live in oakbank area. I will drive to the city rather than order in oakbank ever again. Not like it used to be. The coffee is never hot. I ordered 3 americano coffees today. I had to drive to headmaster location and had them remake all the coffees. They were bitter and warm. This is not just one incident. I go back and try again and everytime it is getting worse. You guys have to up your game if you want to survive in a bedroom community. As well the baked goods are always inconsistent in size and alot of times they look like sitting for ages wonder if they serve food past time they are supposed to. As other Tim’s put their items up on to good to go. People have to start speaking up for quality even if it’s just a beverage. It’s everything at this Tim’s from cleanliness to substandard food and beverages. I have being enjoying my Americano coffee for 20 minutes that was remade at the headmaster location and its still hot. I will go to deacons or headmaster location to enjoy anything off Tim’s menu. Stop being substandard in all ways …especially word gets Around in smaller towns and by thinking you will cut corners now will not benefit you for future sales. Shame on you Oakbank...
