Food is always amazing, service is always great, and amazing value. Always come home with plenty of leftovers. We love Jessica! Some delicious dishes I've enjoyed at Jacks: Sweet & Sour Lean Pork, Mixed Meat & Seafood Tofu Hotpot (I ask for them to make it spicy!), Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, Pork Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, Wonton Soup, Szechuan Chicken, Beef and Brocolli, Chicken & Brocolli in Black Bean Sauce (this one is salty, if you like that.), Ginger Fried Chicken (they serve it to you sizzling on a special serving pan!) and Salt & Pepper Prawns (I always ask for extra of the seasoning because it's quite good.) There's probably more that I just haven't tried yet, but needless to say they are great at what they do. Highly recommend.

We're new to the area and were hoping to find a new regular Chinese. Unfortunately, the food was not what we expected from these reviews. Veggies in the Buddhist Veg were overcooked, the broccoli was so soft it seemed previously frozen. The hot and sour soup was bland, and the rice was pretty gummy. But we didn't eat much of the meal, because... Worst of all, there was something that looked like entrails in the Buddhist Veg. BC Health authority said it might be bean curd, but I'm very familiar with both eating and preparing bean curd and it was unfortunately not that. It was stretchy, but taut. It's in my freezer, I'm considering having it tested. Now, we're on anti-parasitics. Thanks, Jack! Disgusting experience.

Enjoyed my meal from Jack's today. Ordered plain chowmein and 2 egg rolls which were priced very reasonably. Chowmein had good flavor and aroma. The noodles were a bit thick but that is purely a personal preference thing and didn't take away from the dish. The egg rolls were good but I didn't feel blown away. They were a nice size and had good crunch with a delicious vegetable filling. Overall, good meal and would recommend to others. The restaurant was also busy upon arrival which eludes to other dishes probably being good as well.

FYI: I ordered from this restaurant about 6:30 on a Sunday. This is just now being reviewed due to time challenges on my part. Sunday dinner time should’ve been busy. I ordered a combo one from Jacks after my best friend told me they were a secret hidden place that has great Chinese food. I called in the order as we were driving back from Ladysmith and she suggested we stop first and pick up my order so I could leave right from her house in my own car. When I walked in I could see 3 ‘to go bags’ on a table just sitting there in the cold. I knew my dinner was in peril and thought ‘I’m going to get cold, soggy Chinese food’. When I ordered, I did ask for a time estimate window so I could arrive on time. I also was stoked to try their homemade fortune cookies - nice touch! I truly believe the fact that the food was not under a warming lamp or something is why I was so disappointed. There’s lots of chicken in the chow mein. There was a spring roll -I think they call it an egg roll there but I disagree It’s a spring roll and 1 of the best I’ve had in ages. So I got chicken chow mein, almond chicken, and sweet-and-sour chicken balls. Reasonably priced I paid and left. Home for my feed and sweet sour chicken balls (because the batter had absorbed every trace of sweet-and-sour sauce getting cold there was basically no S & S sauce left. The chicken balls had not really soaked up the entire amount of sauce, but also when they were sitting and got mushy and didn’t leave a good taste in my mouth. The almond chicken 🍗 man it looked great. I dug into that but realized it was a lot tough ….so much so that I had to shred the chicken with a fork and a steak knife. I’ll try Jacks again but this time I will ask for sweet-and-sour sauce on the side so it’s not just a big soggy...

Never been to this restaurant before since were from Vancouver. Gave it a shot cuz we were in the area and Google had high reviews of this place.

We arrived at 5:05pm and server took our food order promptly by 5:15pm. Then 4 tables of 2-4 patrons were sat after us (I know this for a fact because I was facing the door) and their order was taken subsequently afterwards. By now the restaurant was full since there was a large 2-table family party. I overheard the owner/manager say that delivery times were 1.25hrs and takeout was 25mins indicating that they were clearly busy. We patiently waited for our order, but then to my surprise, I noticed that the table beside (sat and ordered after us) received all their food. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as maybe their dishes weren’t as “complex” to cook as ours. We ordered garlic stir fried GaiLan, salt pepper squid, chilli pepper chicken, Yeung chow fried rice and hot sour soup- really not that complex honestly. But then, the other 3 tables got their order in after us. All of these tables (which were Caucasians by the way) received their food one after another and 2 of the tables even paid their bill and left before we got our order of 4 dishes. We got all our food at 6:01pm.

I’m not trying to generalize, but this led me to believe that the restaurant chooses to service and favour Caucasians over non-white (despite the fact that our table was all Chinese and this restaurant is clearly owned by Chinese people)

The Experience and service was very poor. Food was decent actually but definitely on the saltier side.

We will not come back to this location unless we’re with our white friends so that we get...

The first time we ordered from this restaurant, the food was great and the delivery time was pretty reasonable. We ordered again tonight and when we called to place our order for delivery, the woman on the other end could barely understand what we were saying, but finally they took our address and phone number. We waited about 30 minutes and called them back because we forgot to tell them to come around to the side of the house. When we told them our address again, they told us they didn't deliver to our area(?) which meant that the delivery time would take longer. We said no problem. When we checked the location of the restaurant, we realized they were 3 minutes away from our home. We waited an hour and called them again. They said that our food was on its way. As I'm writing this, that was 15 minutes ago. It's been an hour and a half since we called to place our order. I'm definitely not impressed. IF we ever order from here again, we'll be...
