The Lakes used to be one of my go to restaurants. However, I was really let down when my family and I decided to go for the Thanksgiving 3 course dinner. The advertisement stated it was an oven roasted turkey dinner, that was extremely misleading, as when we received our dinner the meat looked like ham, I mentioned this to our server and he even agreed that it looked like ham but assured us it was real turkey. The gravy was gelatinous and had the consistency of pudding. My family and I expressed our concerns to the server and he advised us we could could order new meals as he continued to joke him self how the turkey looked like ham. It was extremely disappointing meal, not only did we pay full price for our new meals, that we waited on for another 30 mins. But the server nor did the manager make any changes to our bill to rectify the issue, we were met by the manager that in so many words said “she’s not going to argue with us” and that she comped our turkey dinners (which as explained above, they should be comped as they were not edible and was clearly not real turkey and we didn’t eat them). It was a very unfortunate experience that the server and manager did nothing to make the experience better. We will not...
Read moreRated service as excellent because the staff tries hard and usually can succeed. However, the equipment at the bar is not maintained well and is malfunctioning when it comes to draught beer. When you're served a flat pint of Hermann's Dark Lager or Sleemans Honey Brown, they say they'll "turn up the gas". If the gas is low, it's already too late, the keg is flat. The gas charges the keg to prevent the carbonation from escaping as the free space in the keg increases. The gas will not re-carbonate the beer being drawn from the already flat keg. Also, they need to invest in some appropriate glasware for the beers being served, not just standard sleeves for everything. Guiness, especially, and some other brews deserve the proper vessel to appreciate it. Come on beer reps educate this management!!! Get this issue resolved and have a daily draught beer special. The Waddling Dog does it very well and I'll be heading there more frequently instead of constantly paying premium prices for sub-par brew service. Otherwise the food is great and the menu...
Read moreI've been going to this restaurant for a few years now, and the place used to be a lot better until recently. The serving staff are very nice and friendly, but... The restaurant's food prices have increased, and the menu and proportions had changed drastically. It seems like the establishment is trying too hard to be a fine dining restaurant built out of a hotel(what kind of hotel-restaurant even advertises that they have instagram?), but that doesn't make any sense since most of their demographic are usually families and older folks. I imagine it's due to a change in management or something, but they're definitely not doing as good of a job as whoever was doing it before.
I used to frequent this place often because the food is good and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, but I'm definitely not anymore due to the recent changes. Pretty...
