MexiGo — Restaurant in Saanich

First and foremost they have their covid-19 procedure set up where you go from each sticker on the floor (6 feet apart) up until the cashier where you order your food. After, you move to a "waiting" sticker in the small open area by the cashier. I had a chicken burrito which was fabulous. They make it as ordered so everything was hot and fresh, including the wrap which didn't seem doughy like lots of the deli type places. I think they make the guacamole themselves but if not it's great anyways. The people here were fairly friendly and it was nice to go in to give these guys some business. My only issue with this place is that it was 12 to 14 bucks for this burrito which is pricey. My second concern is that the waiting area is so small that they should keep open the exit door so people can stand outside (maybe with an awning in case it's raining) and they can bring the takeout food outside to call people's names. I have been a patron of this restaurant since it opened. But yesterday's experience left me, deciding that I will no longer be returning to this restaurant. They have always had a policy of substituting guacamole for sour cream, a policy that was always initiated by the server and the owner. However, yesterday the server got into a debate with me on the fact that they have never done that invalidated that with one of the cooks. It's not about the free guacamole. It's pretty much about the fact that they were calling me a liar. Then when I indicated I still wanted guacamole and I would pay for it, I did not get the guacamole. Wow. Just wow. Had lunch there for the first time. I left upset, because I never ate there earlier. Do yourself a favour and eat here. Fresh is an understatement. The tortilla chips they make fresh everyday and taste amazing in their own, but the nachos (topped with white cheese, jalapeños, tomatoes, & green onions) were over the top! The salsa, guacamole and even the sour cream was so delicious. I had to order a second dish of guacamole it was that incredible. My date also marvelled over the incredible flavours. He also stated his fish wrap was delicious, and the best he’s had. Never have I ever…. had such great fresh Mexican food outside of Mexico. The service was spectacular and friendly.
