My lovely wife Pat and I were just traveling through Sackville this one afternoon. Fortunately, we stopped at this bakery, but unfortunately, we missed their hotmeals time of day. Only their light snacks and drinks were open to us. Pat chose one of their tea options while I requested one of their hot chocolate drinks. While Pat waited, I used their bathroom on the main floor. I was delighted with their pleasantly comphy bathroom setup. That's always a good sign. While I was occupied, Pat was able to surprise me with a couple of delicious treats once we were back in our car, while she took pleasure in eating a selection of couscous salad. While in this old building, it pleased me to see an old-world charm about the interior. Everything appeared very well kept. I do enjoy seeing real wood being used. I'm old school. Both Pat and I look forward to returning to this fine establishment next time we are in town. We were made to feel welcome, even though we hit them close to...
Read moreWe had a delicious breakfast at the cranewood bakery. Arriving at about 9:30 on a Saturday morning, we were so happy to have only a small line ahead before ordering from the counter. I would absolutely go again with a better understanding of how it works. Giving a little sign with our order number and having the staff bring it to us would make it a 10/10 experience.
The staff were friendly but I felt a little rushed and unsure of what the process would be. I found that after ordering, you basically have to stand around and wait for your name to be called which meant that the first 15 or 20 mins of catching up with our family in town had to be standing around and moving out of other customers ways. Lots of people came through and asked us if their name had been called. When our drinks arrived we carried them to our table and when our food arrived we brought it to our table and found cutlery. After that it was a very enjoyable sit down in a beautiful and...
Read moreThis place was awesome and surpassed expectations. With the mansion that it's run out of I would have expected them to charge more than anywhere else in town for food. Not only was my first impression with the food very positive, but it was also no more expensive than nearby establishments being run out of a dank hole in the wall. Love the feel of the building. Very homey for somewhere so fancy.
Edit: My only complaint is that the menu prices weren't listed, only the baked goods. This is something that could really ruin someone's day. While my soup was a reasonable price, and I was personally relieved that it wasn't too much, I've heard others mentioned that they were shocked by the price once it was time to pay. This isn't a rich area, so this is bound to turn off many of the locals who can barely afford to eat out, let alone attend potentially expensive...
