Fiona had a lot of us without electricity scrambling for hot food. We ordered a Dinner for 5 and were happy with our food. The chicken balls and almond soo guy both had a crispy batter and the sauces were in containers on the side so nothing got soggy. Although the beef and broccoli was okay, it was nowhere near as good as from Kwong’s in Riverview - that beef and broccoli is seriously amazing. But still, it was okay. Honey garlic ribs were on par with any other restaurant - sweet and sticky. Fried rice was actually really good, and I had two big bowls of it the next day just because it had such a good flavor. Liked the egg rolls, too. Overall, it was a good Chinese meal and the woman at the counter was very nice. And although the restaurant was slammed - a lot more Without electricity thanks to Fiona - we got our takeout order in thirty minutes. And just as an aside, we were about to pick our order up when the restaurant got a call from an irate customer screaming about being overcharged for her delivery order. (I think you’ll find that review on here.) The woman at the counter found the order the customer was complaining about and tried three times to read her the prices off their menu. The person on the phone harassed this woman for five minutes while she tried to explain the prices are from their new menu and that she was really busy but would be willing to call her back. Finally, the customer hung up on her, and this is true, as the restaurant filled up from the pick up counter to the door with people trying to pick up their orders - I think it was up to seven people. So, anybody wondering why their order was late that busy busy night, thank that ignorant person on phone and not...
Read moreI would give this restaurant a four star, however, I have some concerns regarding the portion of food.
The portion of food itself is very good, however, I ordered broccoli and beef to take home only to be disappointed by the amount of broccoli taking over the plate. I am genuinely full from trying to finish the broccoli and there is barely any beef. It took me a matter of seconds to see no more beef (I ate more broccoli than I did beef and here is an image halfway through my meal).
Flavors are decent so if they worked on giving their customers proper proportions of food, this restaurant would indeed get a 4 star from me. If there is no change, I do not see myself ordering take out from Holan's kitchen ever again, which would sadden me as there are not many Asian food stores...
Read moreUncle Bens rice, no water, absolutely no service we had to walk to the cash register, which was on a fold out table, to order. Once we got our food the staff went into the back room and did not come back out. I wanted a glass of water but there was no one to ask so I walked over to the sink where there were disposable cups, right next to an island which had plastic utensils which we also had to grab for ourselves. There was no signage or any way to know that the area was off limits until what I assume was a manager or owner comes out yelling at me to get out from behind and that I wasn't allowed there and yelled that I had to pay for bottled water. All and all it was a...
