This was my first time ordering food from here.I ordered chicken tikka. It was so disappointing in terms of portion size and taste. The pieces of chicken tikka are super small and taste is not even close to what we get in Indian restaurants. It is like cheating the customer! The onion pakora was fine. The tamarind chutney was different in taste than the regular chutneys we have at authentic Indian restaurants. The vegetable curry was not good. It had big, chunky pieces of cabbage, carrots and no taste of coconut although the description mentioned it has coconut. The prices are exorbitant especially when you look at the taste. Montreal has excellent restaurants with good portion sizes and prices. To someone who has never been to Indian restaurants, this taste and portion size would seem normal but to someone who has grown up cooking and eating Indian food, has been to countless Indian restaurants in Ontario and Montréal, the difference is so obvious.

Staff was friendly and the food came out quick. The naan bread was tasty, as well as the rice. The butter chicken was sort of bland and very sugary, I was expecting more taste and more cury and spices. No AC in the restaurant and the ambiance is dated but a nice place to go grab some indian food south shore

I live well south of Montreal, where they put butter on Pizza, and spaghetti = noodles with tomato sauce. What a treat to find Sitar; like a trip to Montreal! I've eaten at a few different Indian restaurants over the years, and Sitar doesn't disappoint! While waiting for my takeout order, I had a couple Samosas. Cooked perfectly, not greasy, with great flavor. My takeout order consisted of my favorites: butter chicken, beef madras and aloo gobi. All three were prepared well, the beef madras had a suprising (in a good way) amount of heat, just the way I like it. The naan bread was tasty, not greasy and with just a little crunch on the edges. If there was one thing that disappointed, the rice was not very good. Perhaps I ordered the wrong one, but it lacked flavor and had a strange...

Boaf.
