Restaurant Au Vieux Duluth — Restaurant in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

Had a good meal and the place is very nice, service was good at first until I found a piece of plastic packaging in my meal (mixed in with the salad). Corner piece and was torn off so the edges were sharp. If I had swallowed that it would've sucked big time. I didn't make a fuss, I didn't ask for a free meal, I didn't ask for a free drink, I asked for nothing (I didn't even get the chance to if I wanted to). I mentioned it to the waiter, "hey, i found this mixed in with my salad, i just wanted to let you know." and was left with "No you didn't. We don't use any packaging like this in here" and tossed it down on the plate, followed by a very attitudey "huh, wonder where you found that from". We asked for his name a few times and he didn't want to give it to us so I can only refer to him as "the heavier set Italian fellow".

So I dined here july 5 2024. Very cramped and stuffy. But beautiful decor and mildly comfy chairs (booths look better tho). Service was AMAZING but rather long. Our waitress was great but spread thin. She did her best with a smile. The food. Now this may be my bad for ordering steak at a Greek restaurant. The steak was cold upon arrival and the cut was full of unchewable cartilage. The fries were under cooked and soggy and my salad was DROWNING in dressing. To wich I was told "oh its best to get the dressing on the side" how about it's best to not drown the salad it's not hard😅🤷‍♂️. Mushrooms soup was GREAT, really good. I recommend 👌.
