The Zesty Lemon Deli & Catering — Restaurant in Saint John

I've been here twice and the first time was definitely a five star experience. But it's too expensive. Soup and sandwich with a few chips is a little over $20. That said, I had a hot chicken (Thai maybe?) Soup which was awesome! And their phili steak on their Texas toast was delicious. Like, suprise you type delicious. It kind of make the price not so painful.

I returned recently to get another one of those amazing phili steak sandwich and tried their corn chowder. Paid my arm and leg, but was let down to see my sandwich was on some sort of bun that didn't really hold the toppings inside that well. And the corn chowder that accompanied it was pretty bland and meh, which was a sad surprise. Sad enough I definitely would not order it again.

If you do go here, make sure you ask for the Texas toast for your sandwich. I'll be back again sometime when I'm feeling rich and want to try something else. Maybe it will give me that beautiful surprise I got...

I have been wanting to try Zesty Lemon for a while now. While living at the hospital with my son I had the opportunity to grab one of their "lunch boxes" from the gift shop. The packaging was so cute and not realizing there was a cookie in the lunch box I also grabbed a lemon bread. The sandwich was delicious. The bread was fresh, the ham was nice and Smokey and it was not soggy at all. I wasn't a huge fan of the potato salad. But that was mainly because I'm not a huge fan of celery, peppers and other veggies in my potato salad. I did still eat it without complaints. The cookie was chocolate caramel and hit the sweet tooth spot. I am too full to eat the lemon bread but took a corner off to review. It is so good. Nice and lemony! There’s a lot of good things about this place, but ultimately it was just OK for me. Mainly I was annoyed that what I wanted to order (a breakfast sandwich) was the only thing not available after 11 (which was not written anywhere on the menu) but they could still make me a different breakfast sandwich if I wanted. What I wanted was the breakfast sandwich that I wanted. (There’s only two) I did not care to argue so I just ordered wtv. I was underwhelmed and slightly disappointed. This is big for some people so I’ll mention it; They serve a pickle on the plate. The pickle I got was not good and the flesh was hard.
