King St Take Out — Restaurant in Saint Stephen

My spouse and I crossed the border for a fun trip away from home. On our way back, he took me to one of his old favorite spots: King St Take Out. Instead of staying around to eat, we got our food to go. However, I must add that the setup outside is pretty sweet. I liked the picnic tables and when we came through, it was quite busy. Anyway, we ordered the 3 piece fish and chip meal + an order of deep fried oreos. I enjoyed the fish, but it wasn't my absolute favorite. It was good, but not the best in my books. However, don't let that deter you from trying it out. My spouse enjoyed it. He really liked the taste of the fish. We opted to share the 3 piece meal since the portions are huge and enough to feed the both of us. He really liked the coleslaw, too. The fries were handcut, so that was nice. They were a bit on the soggy side, but the fact that they were handcut made up for that. We like our handcut fries.

Now, the best part of the meal for me was the dessert. I would give that 5 stars hands done. Deep fried oreos with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. I just about left the mortal plane and got resurrected. That's how good it was. All in all, we definitely would come back when traveling through the area. Not great, but not bad. Ordered fish & chips, onion rings, and poutine. Called ahead to order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Arrived on time and everything was ready (2 very friendly ladies working). We took the 2 minute drive home and were disappointed to find the fish & chips and onion rings were only lukewarm and kind of soggy. The poutine was hot and good though. My fish look just like the other pictures that people taken It was good. The fries were good too, homemade fries. I just wish I was a little more hungry so it could have tried some other things on the menu.
