We went here on our last day of vacation 3 weeks ago.

We were expecting a history lesson on how this chocolate company has made their name, and we certainly were not disappointed. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and in fact, her father actually worked at the factory.

We saw a lot of great artifacts of the old museum, even though it had burnt down a few times. We learnt about some strange habits of the older founders, like the fact that one of them use to eat 83 LBS of chocolate every day, and he passed away at 83 years old.

We then went and watch the hand dippers in there special room, which was really cool to see, a specialty that doesn't exist in very many places anymore.

Of course, what's the point to go to a chocolate museum, without getting any chocolate. Once the tour was finished, we headed straight to the store that is in the front of the factory.

This cute little door greats you as you walk in. It feels old, which is awesome. It really makes you think how it would have looked 50+ years ago.

Next time I'm in St. Stephen, I will certainly stop by the chocolate store again....

Very informative tour of Canada's first Chocolatier and the original founder of so many Chocolate related items that stick out in a person's mind.

Did you know that Ganong was the one that invented the Heart Shaped Chocolate box? And, it was originally designed for Christmas, but someone decided that it would work better for Valentine's Day?

Also, Pal-o-mine Chocolate Bars were the first Chocolate Bar made in North America? These are all really cool facts that I didn't know before I came here.

Now, for all the people visiting here that don't have a data roaming package for your cell phones. I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you put your phone in "don't allow roaming" or airplane mode before you enter. Maine is literally 100m away and my phone was bouncing back and forth from USA to Canada faster than my cat pouncing on a...

We really enjoyed our visit to this museum. It's a guided tour that goes from the history of chocolate to the the history of Ganong Chocolates. Our tour guide was Judy who seemed very proud to give us a tour. The tour is excellent and informative. Judy knew the history, was confident and very friendly. Toward the end of the tour, you can see women actually making and "decorating" the chocolate behind glass windows. You can also sample their chocolates at the end of the tour. The museum is set up well and is organized and clean. Bathrooms are also clean. I strongly recommend visiting this museum. You will enjoy it! We also visited the candy shop, which is...

The Chocolate Museum is open from 10 am to 4 pm. Adult pricing costs $12. Fun and informative tour. History about chocolate and history of the Ganong family's business. The tour guide Judy knows alot of information and made the tour fun and interesting. She's also very pleasant to talk to. During the tour, we got to try some chocolates and candies. And at the very end, we got to see artisan chocolates being made by hand dippers and the people you made the filling for the chocolates. Would recommend doing the tour. There's also the Ganong Chocolate store upfront, where you can buy their products - chocolates and candies, such as their artisan made and factory made chocolates.

Ganong has a long family history dating back to mid 1800s. This family operated business still runs today in St Stephen, New Brunswick. It has been through a few fires and over 14 expansions over the years. They still offer hand dipped chocolates as well as factory made candies and chocolates. The museum offers tours to learn the history of the cacao bean dating back to Montezuma and how it's gathered and used today around the world. We enjoyed the museum, food tastings, and the chocolate shop after the tour. There are plenty of options to create the perfect souvenir for yourself and/or family back home. Enjoy!!
