When I heard that a McDonalds was opening in Saint Stephen I was excited because I thought I would have regular access to the unparalleled Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit.
So journey with me, if you will, on the roller coaster of shock, horror, disappointment and resignation that was my first experience at the drive thru.
McD: "Welcome to McDonald's. Can I take your order?" Me: "One Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit meal please!" McD: "Do you mean an Egg McMuffin meal? We don't server Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits in Canada." Me: "Whaaaaaaaaaa!?!?"
Horrific wasn't it?
Apparently, they don't server the Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit in Canada only the US. I'm not sure what kind of trade deal led to THAT decision but whoever signed it clearly didn't know what kind of advantage they were giving the US.
After I got over that experience, I found that the coffee is good, the staff is friendly and the rest of the menu is pretty good even though it doesn't reach the heights of the Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit; though they did once give me an egg BLT bagel without the egg so they're not without the normal moments one experiences...

Wrong.
What makes McDonalds, McDonalds is the people. Yes the menu and the look and feel are the same, but you are hard pressed to find a crew with as much energy as you do here, Jose's (I think) "GOOOOOD MORNING" at the drive thru window is just one example. Read moreLet me tell ya, man, my experience with the Big Mac at McDonald's was just plain awful. The burger patty was dry and overcooked, like it had been sittin' around for too long. And the bun? It was all soggy and chewy, like it had been left out in the rain or somethin'. And don't even get me started on the special sauce, man. It was all watered down and tasteless, like they had forgotten the recipe or somethin'. And the fries? Dang ol' cold and limp, like they'd been sittin' around for hours. And the service was just terrible, man. The employees acted like they were doin' me a favor by takin' my order and messed it up multiple times. Overall, it was a real letdown, man. I won't be goin' back for a Big Mac at that McDonald's...
