Super humiliating and just plain rude... I've been living in the area for over 6 months now and this morning I went into the local Tim Hortons for the first time in order to get a gift card for someone and a bagel and water for myself. I park outside and walk in the LEFT side doors and see that there is an order and pick up area on each end of the main counter. I see a couple people gathered over on the RIGHT side and I make my way there assuming that's the line. I wait a few minutes and then realize that no one is getting an order taken even though there are workers by the registers. Then I think that all of these other people have already ordered and are simply waiting for pick up. So I make my way back to the LEFT side (all of the other seated customers can watch me be confused and I admit that it's kind of funny). Once I'm waiting on the LEFT end again I see more people trickle in and wait in line at the RIGHT end... meanwhile a lady rushes in and goes to the front of line to pay (I assume she had left her purse in the car and rushed to go get it after ordering - I guess that explained the delay in orders). So this time I stay at the LEFT end and simply wait for the other two people who had been ahead of me on the RIGHT end to order before I walk up to the cash (the third customer in line even told them I was next). As I'm ordering, a lady worker (manager?) from the area behind the cash leans out through the kitchen opening and hollars loudly at me that I am in the wrong line and to go to the back of the "real" line and wait my turn. I explained to her what had happened, but I did not go back in line. After ordering, I have no clue which end is the correct end to wait for pick up... So I drift back to the RIGHT end where everyone else is. A few minutes later my order arrives at the LEFT end. By now I'm certain every other customer in the restaurant has seen/heard the exchange. I don't mind being a little confused and embarrassed, but PLEASE do not YELL at your paying customers and make them feel awkward for being in a cafe nationally known for being kind and courteous. I should also mention that I am a Canadian and I've had countless other good exchanges at other Tim Hortons. This one in particular made me angry enough to give...
Read moreWell, let me tell you about my experience at Tim Hortons, bud. It was a real disappointment, I tell ya.
First off, the service was slower than a turtle walking through peanut butter. I had to wait in line for what felt like hours just to get my coffee, and when I finally got to the front, the person taking my order was about as friendly as a grizzly bear with a toothache.
Secondly, the food was just plain ol' gross. The donuts were dry as a bone, and the bagels were so hard I thought I was gonna break a tooth. And don't even get me started on the breakfast sandwiches - they tasted like they were made from some kinda mystery meat.
Finally, the prices were way too high for what you get. I ain't gonna pay top dollar for a cup of coffee that tastes like it was brewed by my Aunt Betsy, and she ain't even a professional barista.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Tim Hortons to nobody. Save your money and go get yourself a cup of joe somewhere else. Trust me, you'll be...
Read moreTim Horton's in St. Stephen, NB (my home for the past 10 years) is more than a convenience...it is my morning ritual, a consistent sanctuary....a drive-thru connection that goes beyond Earl Grey tea or--for my two years of grad school--coffee. A social worker/therapist, I (joking/not joking) remind the staff that they have skills I could never hope to acquire--including being able to multi-task like nobody's business!!! Their delightful warmth, patience, kindness and beaming smiles are like sunshine no matter the weather. I honestly love/have a connection to those who serve me regularly and show me such genuine fondness :)
