We couldn’t resist ordering all the necessary items. Naturally, we had to try the signature burger, "le bidon." This straightforward burger is elevated by the addition of mouthwatering maple bacon that adds a sweet and savory twist. It’s a burger done right—simple yet utterly satisfying.

No trip to a casse-croûte would be complete without poutine, and it did not disappoint. Their poutine was a classic—perfectly balanced with a generous portion of cheese curds and rich gravy that complemented the fries flawlessly. It’s the kind of poutine that makes you want to savor every last bite but we weren't able to finish it as even the small size was huge!

We also explored their menu of delicious hot dogs, which offered a variety of options that would please any hot dog lover. One item that caught our attention was the "pogo italien." While the name might sound silly, we were pleasantly surprised! This unique take on a classic dish added an unexpected delight to our meal.

As we enjoyed our feast, we couldn’t help but wish there were more old-school casse-croûtes like this in Montreal. However, we are grateful for the opportunity to drive out and experience this slice of tradition. Poutine Popcurd (M) - 15$ - 10/10

MA NOUVELLE POUTINE PRÉFÉRÉE??

La poutine du Restaurant Le Bidon c’est la quintessence de la poutine. Tour ce que tu veux d’une poutine y est. Ça faisait longtemps je voulais tester, les photos me faisait toujours envie et avec raison.

Quand j’ai recu ma commande, j’ai tout de suite su que ça allait être pas loin de la perfection. Juste la consistance et la couleur de la sauce laissait présager un goût incroyable. Le fromage lui on le voyait encore huileux dans le cabaret, signe que c’est ultra frais.

Dès la première bouchée j’ai su que ça tombait direct dans mes cordes. D’entrée de jeu la sauce enrobe tellement bien la frite et le mix des épices de la sauce fait ressortir le bon goût sucré des frites cuites à la perfection.

Pour la sauce, elle vole la vedette… regardez bien la consistance! J’en ai pris en extra et j’en ai même bu un petit peu pour y goûter davantage tellement elle était bonne.

Il y avait amplement de fromage et je pense que c’est peut-être le meilleur que j’ai goûté en poutine ever. J’aimerais savoir il est de où d’ailleurs.

Pour le popcurd on monte la note littéralement à 11/10. Tellement goûteux, ça se mix tellement bien avec le reste. Ça ajoute une incroyable texture.

Finalement mon amie a pris une smoked meat et le smoked meat était vraiment solide aussi. Ça fondait dans la bouche sans être trop gras. Un pur délice.

Je recommande à tout le monde de se déplacer pour aller y goûter. On parle de top5 poutine au Québec facilement.

Food was pretty good. The portions of putine were extremely large. The hambuger was small (about the size of a kids burger at McDonalds). The staff struggled a bit with language barriers - but that is somewhat expected in small town Quebec - and really did try their best. The gravy was not hot enough to melt the cheese on the curds.
