Leopold's Tavern Saskatoon - Evergreen — Restaurant in Saskatoon

The food was okay although my drink didn’t come out made right they did take the drink off my bill which was nice unfortunately though our first round of tacos came out cold the second round was at least warm. but my biggest issues were the server and the music. Our server was not attentive at all and never came to check up on us. She did not seem to want to be there at all. As well as our server and others were sitting down and chatting with friends. The issue with the music was after I had paid for music to play (yes it was appropriate music) it got skipped by staff not even 20 seconds in ever time I played different music. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me at this location and it really makes me regret paying for plays on a jukebox when every time I play music it gets skipped. Honestly I believe it’s okay that they can skip music if it’s inappropriate and there’s children around but the fact that it’s a Tuesday night after 8pm and I can’t play any music I payed for is outrageous. So obviously don’t waste your money on the jukebox here if you want to play music you actually enjoy. My significant other and I used to come to Leo’s quite often but less so recently as we were finding service going downhill. The food was excellent, tons of vegetarian options. The service however wasn't good. Tons of staff conflicts so the atmosphere wasn't the greatest. Waited a half hour to get water so I went up to the bar and asked if I could get water. It's new years eve, I've been a server, cook etc so I know it's busy so that's why I went up so they didn't have to come and deliver to the table. The bartender said "the server will get it for you" I said "I've been waiting a half hour" so she started slaming glasses around until another waitress came to calm her down then they started bickering about how the other server wasn't doing anything. Very uncomfortable and extremely unprofessional. Then the bar tender and server started bickering to the table next to me. The one had to keep coming back to apologize to them about the situation. Again, I've worked in many restaurants and I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior and the back part of the restaurant was empty and part of the main restaurant was as well so it wasn't as though they were that busy.

We came to this location with friends to celebrate my birthday - it's always been one of our favorite spots for the vibes and food. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing and upsetting. Our server, Sydney (who claimed to be the manager), asked for our IDs even though we didn't order any alcoholic drinks. We were surprised because in all our previous visits, no one has ever asked us for ID, and we weren't carrying them since we weren't drinking. We are all over 19, so this felt unnecessary and targeted. What made the experience worse was how we were treated. Even before approaching our table, Sydney was side-eyeing us, and throughout the interaction, she was extremely disrespectful. We couldn't shake the feeling that we were being racially profiled - the tone and attitude were unwelcoming and made us feel singled out for no clear reason. It's really disappointing to be treated like this at a place we used to love. We hope management takes feedback like this seriously, because no one should feel uncomfortable or disrespected - especially while celebrating...
