Sami's Sunrise Grill & Lounge — Restaurant in Saskatoon

Recently the manager at "The Park Café" suggested I come here.

Well, I have been here many times, usually with co-workers for lunch and occasionally on Saturdays for brunch with friends. I've even spotted "park Café Staff" here on occasion. Maybe that's a clue to what you can expect.

The restaurant is always nice and clean and everything is relatively new. Booths are comfortable as are the Tables and chairs. There is a group of bar style high tables and chairs in the center of the room, but I like to stay away from them ... not all that comfortable.

Considering I've been here quite a few times, I cannot comment on the state of the washrooms. I've never had the "need".

The menu has a good assortment of items from eggs (served all day) to sandwiches , burgers and even some dishes you'll only find at Sami's.

The service is always quick and the meals arrive in a timely fashion. Even when this place is packed at lunch time, you wont be disappointed with their friendliness or efficiency. They have a lot of tables and booths and they manage them well. (if you want lunch ... get there by 11:30 or so .. it fills up fast on workdays).

If you have never been there, you will be surprised by the size of the plates and the big portions... they don't skimp. You won't leave hungry, that's for sure.

The food is good and very consistent.

If you like breakfast... and have a dish that includes the "hash brown" potatoes, expect a gigantic portion that's fresh made and tasty. These are freshly hacked potatoes in large chunks , nicely cooked and spiced ... delivered hot.

When your bill arrives you will probably be pleasantly surprised. Compared to similar breakfast/lunch diners, I would say the prices are 10 - 20% lower. The Sunrise breakfast is huge and priced @ 8.95, 10.95 to 12.95 at other places I have been.

The only negative is maybe the location, kind of off the beaten path but you wont be...

Love Sami's! Arrived during lunch rush and had to wait a few minutes until a table opened and was cleaned. One waitress, Krista, was serving everybody and doing a fantastic job. Got water and menus as soon as we were seated. Came back within a few minutes and took our orders, soup (the always fantastic lemon chicken rice) came out shortly after at a perfect temperature for eating immediately. Just finished up our soup when our beef dip and the favourite chicken sandwiches were brought out. Every table (around 10 all nicely social distanced) seemed to be getting the same treatment. Saw water glasses and coffee cups being refilled. Krista was a whirlwind! Cleaning tables, seating customers, taking orders, delivering food, processing payments. The food was great as always. Generous portions, hot (or cold depending!) and fresh. Sorry, no pics...was too hungry to think about that. 5 stars to Sami's and 6 stars to Krista for the...
