Beachside Cafe — Restaurant in Saugeen Shores

Spent last Sunday in Port Elgin basking in sun and waves, and this little food shack is in the heart of it all.

When I think of beach food, I think of fresh cut, double-dipped french fries and a bbq-style burger, and I wasn't disappointed. The fries are crispy and given in abundance. The cheeseburger can be loaded up with pickles, onion, and condiments to your liking. It's a good bear-paw style burger that's perfectly cooked with that bit of char but inner juiciness still intact. Extra ketchup, malt vinegar, white vinegar, and cutlery are all a quick ask away as well.

They also serve ice cream, poutine, and even iced coffee!

If you're lined up behind a family order you're likely to be waiting for 15 minutes or more but it's worth it. Remember, you're at the beach to relax! So take it easy.

It took an hour and a half to get a hot dog , hamburger and fries! I’m not exaggerating either! This was yesterday at 1 pm. What a mess totally ridiculous to half to wait that long! They finally decided to stop taking food orders in order to catch up! You think? Wow and no apologies to any one as well! Rude rude rude! They should have been apologizing like crazy to every one . These teenagers were complaining how they had been sitting there for an hour and an adult helped them by inquiring about their order and the lady said are you sure they didn’t hear their number called . They were sitting right there and I’m pretty sure they’re not...

Old fashioned service and the wait is well worth it with home made burgers & fries to match! Ice cream parlour at the adjoining window with that same old fashion hospitality & charm!
