Maples Cottages (The) — Hotel in Saugeen Shores

Just spent 4 nights at the Maples and we left with big smiles on our faces.

The customer service provided by Paul and his wife was indeed 5 star and the location on one of the harbour access and beach roads with a 5-10 minute walk to both was really convenient.

The cabin that we rented for the 4 nights was truly that, a well equipped and comfortably furnished housekeeping cabin.

It was a clean, well taken care of, 2 bedroom cabin that was air conditioned, with adequate living, eating, kitchen and 3 piece bathroom, living space.

A stainless fridge freezer, a new flat screen tv, great wifi reception, stove and a relatively new barbeque on our outside deck gave us everything we needed to fulfill our needs for a comfortable five days.

A couple of picnic tables, a fire pit and 2 Muskoka chairs were a bonus.

A 4 season cabin!

A true old fashioned cottage/cabin updated to current and satisfactory comfortable vacation needs.

Each cabin at the Maples is a little bit different from its neighbour.

We definitely will be back again...

I've been vacationing at The Maples since 1989, same cottage, same week, except for a few seasons over that time period including a lay off of work week, personal medical issue one year and then Covid restraints, which were out of my hands and too many Covid restricions to go to the cottage. For some reason the owner canceled me and rented the cottage that I've been renting for 32 years without contacting me. I only found this out when a friend asked me if I got my confirmation. Shame on you Paul Litt. The reason being that the cottage was left a mess which it wasn't and the owner will not elaborate on this issue and also informed me that I haven't been up for years, please explain what last year was after Covid restrictions were lifted. Totally perplexed on this whole issue. Next cottage site will be an actual cottage with room and not a shack like at The Maples. There's a whole world out there to enjoy, even with...

Had a delightful stay here in June, 2017! Paul was so accommodating - and went above and beyond providing us with linen when we had none. Cottage was spacious (we got the large one as we were 4 adults) and clean as a whistle. So grateful for a good coffee maker and well-stocked kitchen so we could make our dinners/breakfasts. A short walk to amenities and beach ... really such a lovely...
