Frenchies Fries — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

This is the only place in town I'll grab a poutine from.

The gravy has good flavor and is not overly salty, generous helping of cheese, but the real reason to go here is the fact you can get your order made out of sweet potatoe fires to make your poutine less boring and more interesting. It costs extra, but I feel it's worth it.

The outdoor patio is nice and quiet with plenty of shade. Also the staff have no problem running your order to you because it's hard to hear them call your name from the window.

The place is licensed as well incase a lunch time...

The fries were ok I guess but the gravy is gross. $3.50 for the gravy and it came in a tiny styrofoam container. They couldn't even put the gravy on the fries. Never again will I buy anything from them. I'm local and there are alot better places to eat than there. If you like very thin flavorless gravy then it's all good. Everything is over priced as well. We just pulled in from Thunder Bay on our very long journey from Edmonton to home in Toronto. I was really hungry for fish and chips, so we looked on line and saw that Frenchies was open until 9 pm. Boy were we wrong. Wendy was very kind and told us you’ve been closing at 8 for some time. Wendy then took the time to helped us find another place to eat before she got in her car and left.
