What happened to this place? Food used to be yummy no matter what you ordered (not so much this year, 2024, undercooked greasy fries, bland almost freezer taste to the fish, burgers not the same, etc ) and staff used to be personable not just behave with a basic level of politeness. There was a time where you drive by and have to think twice about going there only because it was so busy, but nowadays every time I go by there's nobody there. The last few times I went food was just subpar, nothing to write home about, so I've been going up the road to the other fish and chip place instead for better quality and service. And you can't blame the pandemic on this place's drastic decline. Won't go back, and I tried more than once to be sure it wasn't just a one-time issue. I do appreciate the courtesy of the owner responding, however it will not change my mind because I have tried multiple times since the change of ownership. Maybe I'll give it another chance next season and if it's better I'll revise my review but for now no thanks.
Update in 2025. Stopped by for fries and asked for a gravy. Rather than the gravy on the side, or at least being asked how I wanted it, it was poured over the fries which made them soggy. I prefer my fries crisp and merely dipped in...
Read moreI’m guessing new owners since the for sale sign is gone and they are now open. At least the menu hasn’t changed yet. Ordered a 1pc cod fish and chips as well as a cheese burger and poutine. You can tell the fish was cooked frozen and the burger was sad low quality even including the toppings. Fries are above average and the poutine has shredded mozzarella cheese which is nice instead of cheap cheese curds. Not something I would go out of my way for when you can go to somewhere like burger don for almost the same price.
They need to get rid of that wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man. The thing is so loud I cant even hear the server when I’m ordering.
Other than that I was charged extra based off their menu prices.
Cod 1pc with chips $16.50 Cheeseburger $12.99 “Separate” regular poutine $9.50 = $38.99+hst= $44.06 (what I paid)
Based off their menu what I should have paid for a “make it a combo” the poutine should have been $6.99 so I save $3. I didn’t mention anything at the time as it could just...
Read moreI stopped today by this fish and chips spot, and I have to say—it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, crispy, and perfectly cooked. The fish was flaky and tender, the chips were golden and seasoned just right, and everything came out hot and fast.
But what really made my visit special was the girl at the cashier. She greeted everyone with a warm smile and made the whole ordering process smooth and welcoming. You could tell she genuinely cared about the customers and took pride in what she was doing. Her friendly attitude and great service added a personal touch that you don’t always find in busy places like this.
Highly recommend this place—not just for the food, but for the people who make it feel like more than just a quick stop. I’ll definitely be...
