Joe's is a charming establishment located near a scenic pier with an amazing view of the water. We reserved 2 tables for a multi-family dinner while we were visiting the area and were pretty happy with the experience. The vibe here is relaxed, costal modern and has large windows that allow you see its beautiful surroundings. Decor is tasteful, tables and chairs are comfy and the whole restaurant is just gorgeous when bathed in natural light. Dining here during the beginning of dusk, we were able to enjoyin our food basked in a warm orange glow of the sunset. Speaking of the food, it's also excellent. Everything we ordered was fresh, well prepared and beautifully plated. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta and some fresh Oysters to start. The Smoked Salmon was excellent, and there was no skimping on the fish here. The flavours were well balanced, not too much cream cheese or capers and the drizzle really helped make the plate cohesive. And the oysters, plump and fresh, amazing with either the mignonette or vodka sauces. We also ordered steamed mussels, seafood linguine, Joe's L'il steak with a side of shrimp, the Pacific Chowder and the Shoreline Tuna Burger. The mussels were super tasty, served in a coconut lemongrass broth, it was too good not to drip bread and fries into. The Chowder was also another highlight, full flavour with generous portions of shrimp and fish, although I do wish it had more clams. The Tuna Burger was also delicious, we were delighted that it wasn't a fish patty, but a tuna well seared and seasoned and not overcooked tuna steak. Speaking of steak, it was also delicious, cooked to an almost perfect rare and paired with fresh, plump shrimp. The best dish was the seafood linguine, generous portions of seafood, perfectly cooked pasta and a rich, flavourful sauce. Not too heavy of a dish at all. The staff here are also excellent. Our servers were super attentive, and were able to make recommendations, check for allergens in the food and were prompt in refilling drinks and collecting finished dishes. Joe's is easily accessible from the Sunshine Coast Highway and is attached to the Oceanside Hotel. The parking lot is small, but we were able to find parking fairly easily. There is streetside parking located nearby as well. The facilities were also immaculate during our visit. There is also outdoor seating available. All in all a very enjoyable, scenic dining experience. Visit here for a good time, and then cross the street to take in the waterfront. Highly recommend if you are passing by.

Made a reservation because of some of the pictures on reviews on Google maps. Just an FYI on this location the huge lobster and seafood platter was a unique lobster fest event only. They do not have it on the menu all the time. In fact we were disappointed with the entire menu. When we made our reservation they said over 14 dishes had seafood. Well that included the appies and seafood pasta and fish tacos and fish and chips. Not much else. No crab meals or lobster meals here. In fact we had never seen calamari as thick sticks. Didn't taste great either. Was ok but I prefer everywhere else's calamari. Three of us had wanted seafood so we settled for the seafood pasta and while it tasted ok there was definitely NO WOW factor and the sauce was mediocre and at $30 a plate it was definitely not worth the bang for the buck. The shrimp appie was just ok. Do not order the Pina colada because it tasted 🤢 and so I just couldn't drink it. I requested a different drink because I told her something was very wrong with the drink. She took it back and brought me the Vodka Cran and 7up and it tasted funny too but I drank it. When the bill came she still charged us for the full $12 for the returned pina colada drink which we felt should've been removed. It was curdling at the table....🤮 We also ordered a ceasar and it was funny tasting too. The guys switched to beer instead. We ordered a "lighter meal" of mussels and it was literally a pound of mussels with absolutely nothing with it. No salad or soup or pasta or potatoes or fries...nothing. More of an appy than a "light meal". Meal means a meat vegetable starch and light meant less quantity of food. My recommendation is not to waste your money at this location. Our family decided we wouldn't be back and went to another restaurant to have drinks and dessert because the drinks were bad at Joe's. Sorry. Plus side.....nice location and our server was great with being attentive and friendly. We won't be back.

It was our last night on Sunshine Coast and we decided to check out this restaurant just beside our accommodation, The Oceanside a coastal hotel. The service from the staff were excellent, very warm and welcoming! And best of all the food did not disappoint! The steak was absolutely bang on, beef caparcio had a slight twist on it - wish it was slight thinner so it’s easy to chew and without the bread, the simple salad accompanied the beef slices well! The chicken wings were real spicy good for those who are a hot spicy lover (im guessing it was the Louisiana sauce as we requested for a mixed of flavour but wasn’t served), tho I was looking forward to try the other sauces as I can’t handle spicy too well. The prawns appetiser was also very flavourful, a lil hint of tangy and went well with baguette! Seafood bowl was a good sharing starter too! a complimentary cake slice for bday celebration which ended the lovely dinner memorable at a homey-restaurant being far away from home, with coastal vibes! 👏🏻

Update: The owner reach out to me and has been very responsive and engaged on all the issues and detail... Definitely has gone above and beyond just refunding my order. To me that's super meaningful, because we all mess up but we don't all respond with grace. So I'm currently updating this review to four stars, and if next time I eat there the food is delicious I intend to upgrade it to five.

I really want to love this place. Except this is my second takeout order and both times there has been a critical issue with fulfilling my order correctly.

The first time they omitted the housemade garlic mayo and the order was poorly packed so the dipping sauce (which I'm allergic to) exploded all over the chicken by the time I got home 5 minutes later, rendering it inedible to me.

Stuff happens. I figured it was a one-off, gave it to my partner, and let it slide, even ordered again a few weeks later.

But today they messed up again and totally omitted the side for one of the orders. What's weirder is that the order missing the side was packed in a container large enough to contain the missing side, and there are fry crumbs at the bottom as if someone put it in and then removed it.

I called back right away when we noticed, but they were closed by juuust a few minutes and I got an automated answering service. I left a message and I'm hoping someone will get back to me tomorrow, but for tonight we are out of luck.

So for a $40 takeout order we got a single chicken club and yam fries. Not exactly value.

Regardless, I was excited for the sandwich and dug in.... Only to realize something in the chicken club tasted off, like the meat was on the verge of going bad or had been sitting out.

It's not every bite but we can also clearly smell it upon taking a sniff, and it's extremely off-putting in what would otherwise probably be a delicious sandwich. I can even taste it when I burp, which is definitively gross. But I don't even have fries to wash the flavor away. 😢

Anyway stuff happens and I'm hoping these were anomalies. That said, as it stands I can't recommend this restaurant at all. Spending money to go hungry twice in a row...

This was the worst service and experience we ever had. We came for the seafood and were very sadly disappointed. We came at 4 and were told we had to wait half an hour before we could order from the dinner menu. We were offered warm tap water with no ice and when I asked for an ice water I was given a small cup of just ice and had to pour my warm tap water into it. We finally ordered at 4:30. At 5:00 it came. The business was not busy at all and there were 5 waitresses with about 6 tables. My daughter’s fish and chips were DRIPPING with grease and my burger was really really bad. We were charged extra for cheese and bacon and 3 dollars for gravy. I was given 8 fries with my burger even though I paid 3 dollars extra for a gross Cesar made with spring green lettuce and no sauce whatsoever. That is not a Cesar salad and the croutons were bad. Terrible food. We were not once checked in on when we got our food, never asked if we wanted refills of warm water or drinks and the 3 waitresses Inside were busy standing around talking and not busy. To top it off the bathroom is GRoSS. The door going in the washroom was black with dirt(one of the useless teenaged workers could wipe it in 1 min) and the bathroom was disgusting. Waaaaaay overpriced (a simple not good burger with added cheese and bacon was 40 dollars) plus my husband didn’t get the fries we were told came with the burger or the gravy. The place was soooooo hot we were sweating during our terrible looooong stay. I told the waitress at the end of our meal when she finally showed up how bad the fish was and burger was and that we would have told her if we had seen her at all. She took off the fish and one burger from the bill and acknowledged she never checked in. The 140 dollars we still paid for 2 meals and 3 drinks was a very disappointing experience and we will never be back. The seafood is definitely frozen and no where near fresh. As we walked past the 3 useless teenaged workers talking and blocking the door as we left the only good interaction came from the bartender to thanked...
