An unsuspecting restaurant that is less steakhouse and more restaurant-with-a-steak-menu-section, but many other options as well. Not a cheap place to eat red meat, but a very tasty set of steaks that come with your choice of sides (the mushrooms were great). The flank/bavette was the most tender everyone on the table ever had, which is saying something, and the flavour was wonderful. Another highlight was also the alcoholic coffee menu. I can recommend the Cafe Brasserie, and a family member would recommend the Cafe KGB. There is also a substantial cocktail and drink menu and the Carnivore Caesar is worth checking out.
Service was slow at times, but there was some kind of party on the patio and the meal was worth the wait anyway. Inside the restaurant did not have a youthful or energetic atmosphere, but the patio did. We stayed inside, and enjoyed a meal surrounded by quiet tables.
Overall, a very good option if you're craving a good steak but I wouldn't go here for a date or a chic vibe. We came for a casual meal while staying from out of town and...
Read moreThe atmosphere is very good with dim lights and a fake candle on the table. I liked the virgin strawberry daiquiri. I had the host table menu: garlic shrimp as an appetizer, medium "sparkling" filet mignon with french fries and a piece of carrot cheesecake (since the New-York cheesecake was not readily available). The passion fruit infusion was very delicious. The food was delivered very quick. Alexis delivered a pristine service. He was a very good service and tried to accomodate us. Thank you! The only down side I can tell is that the other guests were very loud. At least, there was no music playing, or it would have been worse. Also, the washroom is in the basement, so I do not think there is a wheelchair...
Read moreThe service was excellent and fast, no wait time between appetizers and main. Drinks topped up at a good pace. The staff is very well trained, proactive and attentive. We had cocktails (martini peach-orange, blue lagoon, a virgin cocktail) to start off. Followed by drinks (beer, wine, virgin daiquiri) and a blooming onion to share. We were a party of three and each took a different steak cut (filet mignon, entrecote, bavette). Everything was positively delicious and very filling. I was the only one who had room for dessert. I tried the NY cheesecake which was good. Though, had I been able to eat it on my own, I would have loved to try their apple pie instead. Several tables ordered it and it looked so warm...
