Amazing blend of French and Quebec flavours. Generous and smart use of maple syrup and butter in many goodies!
This place is a must if you are in the area. It came highly recommended by friends who live in Sherbrooke. One of which is French.
The Queen was buttery and syrupee. So great to sink your teeth in something with crunchie layers and layers of folded pastry.
The feuillantine is a beautiful tart. Every part of it is tasty. The crusty dough, the apple filling, the sugar frosted light top. Yet it is not too sweet but tarty enough. Just right.
The macarons are beautiful (mother's day series in picture) but I personally find them too sweet. The mother's day flavour are so amazing: teas and fruits(see pictures). Delicate but packs an amazing punch of flavour. For some reason, one of our macaron filling had a near solid filling (too much gelatine or pectin?). Felt like we were eating a jujube.
The almond croissant is very satisfying. Seems like they are using fresh croissant and not day old croissant (oops, did I expose a baker's secret?). Very good almond filling and plenty of roasted almond shavings on top. Thanks for helping us forget skimflation.
They have lots of savory things like sandwhiches but that will be for another time (that bechamel croissant sandwhich is caaaaalling me!!!)
The espresso drinks are are only ok. A bit disappointing given the quality of the food.
The staff is the best! Quick to serve and great service to table. Who wants to wait at the end of a counter for their drink when they can be seated in such a kool place!
The setting is amazing. Great for work, chill or buttering up your date. So much light and space but I wished they had more chairs with backs instead of stool on those long tables. Not comfortable for extended...
Read moreThe pandemic combined with this patisserie/boulangerie have contributed to me packing on the Covid-19... Breads are amazing. Micche Occitane is perfect for grilled cheeses. Le parisien is great for anything requiring a crusty bread. Their cheese bread is great as well (although they changed their recipe, it used to be more peppery). I have a pretzel per week. Okey, I'm lying. Two. This is the place to go to impress your guests, or to grab something quick on the go. Saucisson Chèvre or Jambon beurre are lunch classics.
Put it this way. I used to insist on taking my daughter to ballet every Saturday. Why? We'd stop for a daddy-daughter snack before she went in. Then, I would sprawl out a buffet of croissants and pastries while I waited for her in the hallway. I love this place. They opened a new branch in Rock Forest with a wider offering, however, I'm OG.
This is my...
Read moreWe bought our house on the Canadian border during COVID, knowing that just across the way lay a world of incredible pastries—but for a long time, they were just out of reach. The very day restrictions lifted, I made it my mission to finally explore, and that’s when I discovered Les Vraies Richesses. What a treasure!
I walked out that day with two full sacks of carb-laden goodness and immediately warned my wife she might want to stop eating—because from now on, our pastry game was about to change forever. From perfect croissants to indulgent treats, every bite is a reminder of why French baking is truly an art form. I’ve now visited both locations, and they are equally wonderful, consistently delivering that same magic.
If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and make the trip. Les Vraies Richesses lives up to its...
