Had an amazing dining experience at King Hall in Sherbrooke. It started strong with an antipasto platter that was perfectly curated—great selection of cheeses and cold cuts, fresh and flavorful. For the main, I went with a seafood risotto and added extra octopus—absolutely worth it. The rice was perfectly cooked and the seafood was fresh and well-balanced. Their wine list impressed me too: a solid Italian red and a phenomenal Rioja made the meal even better. Service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious…hands down. The waiter was absent most of the time. Took 45 minutes to get our bill after asking for it three times. When asked…the answer was “j’étais a l’extérieur”. At the nearby table, there was a waiter practically stationed there who partook in the libations. Really? Beautifully appointed, great vibes. Servers were polite, warm, and professional. However, the food did not live up to the atmosphere; it was if the chef was timid and scared to add flavor to dishes for fear of offending someone.
