I had some not so great experiences in this restaurant but last night that all changed. The food and service was awesome from start to finish. There were only 2 servers (they were supposed to be 4) and the restaurant was full. The wait time was longer than usual (but obviously totally expected and accepted), that said the service was impeccable, professional and very friendly despite being short staffed. The new chef and his team were amazing. I had the salad, soup , fried calamari and beef cheeks with parsnip purée. Every bite was close to perfection, flavours, presentation , and all hot meals came out at the temperature you’d expect. I was so amazed I had to go say thank you to the chef and his team who did an amazing job. I wanted to ask the whole restaurant to toast the servers but got a bit shy (lol). My only regret is being too full to try their desserts who are all made at the restaurant. They also try to source locally when possible. Food, atmosphere, and service--all 5 stars. We were served by the owner who was friendly (and bilingual); she informed us right away that they didn't sell alcohol (BYO only). We indulged in food instead; we tried the soup of the day, fish & chips, and steak frites, topped off with coffee and lemon meringue cheesecake... everything was phenomenal. Very tasty tartar sauce and aioli served with the fish & chips. Everything was fresh and made in house; you could tell. The restaurant was completely packed and every person in there was having a great time. Very trendy and cozy environment with rustic wood tables and modern light fixtures. Pire steak que j'ai mangé dans un steak house. En résumé: cher, pas bon, erreur de commande (cuisson et coupe de steak), service lent (souper de 3h), pas de parking, bruyant, mauvais emplacement de table (directement dans le corridor), toilette sale. Nous étions 7, avons commandé 5 steaks, 3 n'était pas mangeable. Les 3 steaks étaient des fillets mignons à 52$+tx chaque (déjà trop cher pour un 5 oz selon moi) et était aussi difficile a manger qu'un steak d'épicerie bas de gamme à 3$. Je n'ai pas été capable de fini le mien (5 oz), trop dur a mâcher avec beaucoup de gras. Mon Méchant Steak était trop Méchant a marcher pour moi. Nous avons commandé nos steaks avec des cuissons différentes. Cependant, la seule cuissons qui semble avoir été faite est saignant. Nous avons demandé si c'était la bonne cuisson à la serveuse, elle a confirmé que oui. Visiblement le chef et la serveuse ne connaisse pas leur cuisson de steak dans ce steak house. Moi je vous confirme qu'ils n'ont pas de distinction entre bleu, saignant, et semi-saignant. Suite à nos commentaires nous avons eu le chef à notre table qui nous a dit qu'il avait tranché les fillets mignons dans le mauvais sens et que c'était son erreur. Une fois arrivé à la facture, qui a pris 1h après que nous ayons fini de mangé, tout avait été chargé même s'il y avait eu erreur. Nous avons eu beaucoup de difficulté à nous stationner même avec les stationnements payant. L'endroit était tellement bruyant. Le restaurant est fait sur le long (comme un gros corridor) et le son est très présent entre la cuisine et le reste de la salle, bref ou nous avons été placé.
