Food and surrounds should complement and compliment each other to make the dining experience really enjoyable! This (?) restaurant whilst having a gorgeous waterside position and such lovely views, needs a total tidy up, refurbishment and the owners to put some attention to the state of the place. It's delapidated, untidy, unloved and there is no care evident as to cosmetic appeal. Falsely, the photos. on the website are very misleading and are NOT what the diner will find on arrival. This is extremely dishonest advertising. Our table service however, was very good so we overlooked the worn, cramped tables and chairs, the cheap plastic bulk salt shaker and pepper pot, the common cutlery and flimsy paper serviettes. The meal prices, especially for main course plates, are extremely expensive, the Brunch menu prices are a little more reasonable. If I'm paying $35+ for a main plate, I expect some culinary finesse as well as delicious food. The meals we ordered were somewhat as described but not all entirely as order requested and one plate was so greasy with cold oil or oily salad dressing, under and on the plate, it somehow passed any kitchen care inspection before going out to the diner... unappealing and off putting before the food was even tasted. Sadly, two serves did not have the eggs prepped as requested and that's disappointing, it's basic cooking. To have the meals returned to the kitchen was not feasible as the restaurant was busy (?) with a closing time of 2 pm.. As visitors (a party of four) we had chosen this eatery via the website; it failed to deliver what we assumed would be an excellent Ontario total dining experience. Very large, hefty portions splayed across the plate do not compensate for diner enjoyment. Overall, and sadly, this was an extremely disappointing dining experience. The Management really do need to remove the current misleading, false website photographs or actually upgrade to what they show! Not...
Read moreWhere do I start, I never write reviews unless I have to save someone from wasting their time. I just had terrible experience at nautica, we were seated at 1pm and didn’t get our food until 2pm, it was not busy, it is overpriced for the terrible service.
Me and my friends were only approached by our waitress twice at most, to take our initial order and to bring the food. They did not check if we needed refills or water on a hot day. It was most terrible service I’ve had in town by far. The food is good but it is severely dragged through the mud by the service.
The food can be amazing, but the service is what helps make people come back. I will never be coming back here again and I will tell everyone to not waste their time. I can’t sit and wait an hour to be forgotten.
I asked for the bill and a box for the food as soon as we got our food. I had to go in and remind the server, who is just standing around, for a box and pay my bill so I can leave. It was truly a terrible experience, and feel the guilt that I put my friends from out of town through that. It just makes the...
Read moreThis is a definite diamond in the rough. I used to come to this restaurant 20 years ago and so many memories came to mind when I stepped inside. This was nostalgia at its finest. Don’t be deterred by the quiet, unassuming exterior, your taste buds are about to be wowed!! The menu is so well written that I honestly wanted to try everything. So many wonderful breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes. I will be going on a twice weekly basis just so I can try everything!! The food was absolutely incredible. The hubby and I are so bored with the same old same old food and restaurants that our visit here was the culinary delight we both needed. Exotic sounding eggs benny, the most delicious ooey gooey grilled cheese (with bacon obviously) that you’ll ever have the opportunity to eat and numerous amounts of exquisite and delightful sounding deliciousness just waiting to be devoured. This place is a must!!! Your tastebuds will...
