This place was once great. However now than Dom is no longer running it, it is going downhill. We had a celebration of life for my grandfather on Saturday, my mom place her order ahead of time for it to be delivered to the hall. The first problem was their delivery service, the guy came in and said he would need a cart to bring the stuff in so we got him 2 carts and brought them outside, he opened his car doors and trunk and had me and my sister unload it ourselves when we should have been visiting with family. Fantastic delivery service, they do not have. Second problem, my mom asked the guy for the total it was $387 so she handed him $400 and he pocketed it without saying oh let me get you change. So my mom said to him, oh there is $13 left out of that and then handed him some extra for a tip. Third problem was we ordered a FULL tray of meatballs and a tray of meatballs mixed with sausages, when we opened the food to put it out it was 2 trays of meatballs and sausages mixed together. This was very unfortunate as some people attending the celebration of life do not eat pork, including myself. My mom called through to make the complaint about the driver and that her order wasn't how she had ordered it. The lady on the phone was very rude, and said well we use a courier service to deliver and that she would call them to let them know the problem with the driver. The lady who my mom was speaking with asked my mom if she got her whole order, my mom replied yes but not the way it was ordered and the employees response was "well you got your order". When we put out the food everyone asked where it came from and we said antipastos and then told them about the problems with the driver and the order and they said they would not order from there. The hall that we had the celebration at said they would tell people having functions there not to order from antipastos due to the issues we had.
Very very crappy service on a $400 order, your staff was ignorant and your business should look into another courier service for deliveries as the one you are using is not very...
Read moreAt 12 noon today, June 29th, 2022, I purchased an Assorted Italian Foccia sandwich and 2 garden salads from the stores cold display case. The sandwich was fine, however, the salads which were served for supper at 6:30 pm the same day were horrible. The salads had obviously been left over from Monday, June 27th as the cucumbers were so soft and not edible. The romaine lettuce in the salad had brown colouring on every single piece. We shop at Antipastos at least once a week. You can ask your Cashier, Dana, as I speak to her every time I am in the store. She will verify that I am a regular shopper at Antipastos. If you are going to sell salads that are a day or 2 old, you should not be selling them at the regular price. You should let your clients know that the salads are discounted as they are one or 2 days old. It has happened before with the salads, but this is the absolutely worst ever. I would prefer to pay the full price and have fresh quality for the money. Just a hint for future shoppers: Check the bottom of the salad container & if you see brown on the Romaine lettuce don’t buy it. The only alternative is to ask for a freshly made salad to go…even then the deli servers say there are some pre made in the deli case & they give you a dirty look. I just tell them I want a freshly made salad with no onions and they will make one up on special order. We have been supporters at Antipastos for over 20 years, even under the previous ownership, however, some the quality of some things are just not the...
Read moreNormally I would give Antipastos 5 stars but today they get 2.5. I have been using their services for many years for luncheons and events for my doctors and I shop there personally for my family. In late December I bought the 2L Wedding Soup $18.99 which I love, and it wasn’t to expire until February. Last week I opened it and right away knew it had turned, possibly it wasn’t sealed properly so I had to dump it all. Today I mentioned this to the cashier, she checked with her manager who said there was nothing they can do if I didn’t have the jar. Who keeps the jar! It went into recycling. I get that people will try to scam businesses but at the very least they could have offered a loaf of bread or a store credit as a show of good faith, they clearly do not value repeat or loyal customers, it would have been nothing for them to replace a $20 jar of soup or some equivalent. This is not Pusateri’s Fine Food in Toronto, this is our local community grocer who normally has very good food, but today bad customer service. The cashier by the way was sweet...
