Ollee's Bar & Eatery — Restaurant in St. Thomas

My husband, brother-in-law and I just stopped in for dinner. We were not impressed.

We got menus right away, but it took about 10 minutes before we could order drinks. There seemed to be some confusion between the two waitresses over who was supposed to take our order, as one was supposed to be getting off soon. It felt a little weird. She said something like, "Why doesn't the other girl just take your order?"

We ordered coconut shrimp to start. There was six, which seemed pretty skimpy for $10.99. My husband ordered the lasagna, BIL had the Canadian burger. I asked if the steak stir fry came with mushrooms, and was told that it did, so that's what I ordered.

When the drinks arrived, my husband and BIL both said that their pops tasted flat and watered-down. After the shrimp, we waited for at least 30 minutes to get our meals. No one came to check on us, and I had to flag our waitress down for pop refills, since we were getting thirsty.

My steak stir fry was not only mushroom-free, but completely tasteless. The steak was also tough. After such a long wait, I wasn't willing to send it back, so I doused the stir fry in condiments to make it edible. BIL's burger arrived with fries, which was the side that he requested- and that we took for granted was part of the menu price, as it would be in most restaurants.

I asked about the lack of mushrooms, but nothing was done about it until the bill came (15 minutes after we had finished our meals). The waitress reduced the bill by $2, as mushrooms were apparently now treated as an "extra". We also noticed a $3.49 charge for the fries with the burger, which seemed completely unreasonable.

Needless to say, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and we will...

We decided to give this place a try for our Friday night out and were not disappointed at all! The restaurant seemed moderately busy and the two servers were hustling the whole time to make sure the place was receiving prompt service. We ordered the small nachos which was quite large for a small, a large fries well done, 1lb of medium wings, and a small pizza to share. Everything was incredible, I can’t get over how good the wings were. Everything was fairly priced and the portion sizes were bang on for those of you with an appetite. Highly recommend this place, we’ll be back for more nights out once hockey season rolls around.

Would especially like to thank our server, Jess, who I actually went to high school with and didn’t realize it until she mentioned it. Your service was impeccable, you were beyond polite, checking in with us on our meal and making sure we were good for drinks. One of the best server’s we’ve had this year, my personal gratitude to you for keeping an eye on us, and making our night out so enjoyable....

The 28 August. It would have been nice if the bartender-waitress didn't take the liberty of keeping our change. I waited for half hours then asked for my change. She tried to make me feel guilty for asking. I didn't know she was allowed to keep 45% tip. After insisting, she came back holding the money so tight in her hand trying to keep it. When she finally gave it back, it wasn't the full amount. I asked her what was the price. She gave me a different price. I mention it wasn't the price you mentioned before. She said it was her tips. I said a good waitress gives the change back and it's up to the customer how much we decide to tip. She reply I'm not a waitress, I'm a bartender, look around. I looked around and talked to different customers. They replied that this had happened to them too. I ask why no one reported her to the owner.
