The Ice Box St.Thomas — Restaurant in St. Thomas

Somewhat underwhelming.

The family and I stopped here for the first time on a whim during a hot Sunday. It was clean, staff was friendly as others have mentioned. Seeing a dog-friendly business is a nice change.

Problems arose with our order however. He selected 4 pre-determined bowls from the menu. My wife had the "Funky Monkey" and while making it, the employee told us they did not have any bananas, was "that okay?" Sure, I mean, you've already started making it...

The chocolate sauce pump was just sputtering out tiny droplets, so we didn't receive much sauce. 3 or 4 Reeses Pieces topped the order.

I had the cookie bowl, and outside of once again a sputtering of chocolate sauce, was actually quite good.

My kids had the worms and dirt. After absolutely draining the aforementioned chocolate sauce pump...instead of refilling it, the employee resorted to using NSA chocolate sauce without asking if the substitution was okay. We were then told (once again at the end of the order) that they were out of gummy worms. Okay...I asked if they could substitute ju-jubes instead. They placed 3 on top.

I dont have a huge problem with the shortages...it's a very hot weekend. I'm sure you have had a good amount of customers come through...naturally stock runs low. But as a business and as an employee...keep tabs of this, and advise the customer when they order that you dont have everything needed to make it properly.

1 star for a clean shop, 1 star for friendly staff, and 1 star for using Shaw's. Missing stars for un-advised product shortages, and being charged full price for incomplete orders.

When they do have ice cream its usually okay. However 75% of the time if you order after dinner they are out of every flavor besides vanilla and other less desirable flavors. Stopped ordering back in Feb because every time we'd order it would get cancelled or wed be asked to pick from what they DID have left. Why offer something if you don't have it. Stuck at home today figured oh why not give them one more shot. Ordered (2) simple scoops ice creams, order cancelled. Ordered again and picked from basic flavors, delivered only 1 of 2 ice creams ordered. Some things you cant blame on Ubereats. I ordered a lactose free cake for my husbands birthday! The Ice Box went above and beyond with answering any questions I had and customizing the cake in anyway! When our birthday plans changed suddenly they completely accommodated my request to pick up the cake an entire week early! When I went to pick it up in store the service was amazing from start to finish! I highly recommend The Ice Box and will absolutely order from them again!
