Sunset Cafe — Restaurant in St. Thomas

Terrible experience today at this restaurant. All started from the time we walked in the door. It took the staff over 5 minutes to greet us as we stood at the front awaiting a table. There were lots of tables available. Once we were seated, the waitress stated she'd be right back to take our drink orders. As we perused the menu, we decided to get the buffet. Another 10 minutes went by and still no waitress, so we decided to help ourselves to the buffet. While we were getting food at the buffet table, our waitress finally came by and we asked for coffee and water for the adults and water for the kids. When we got back to our table the waitress came with our drink order. This would be the last we saw of our waitress. Noone came to refill our water, coffee or clear our plates. I tried breakfast the holindaze sauce was terrible. And I tried dinner. The BBQ ribs were cold and smelt and tasted off. It wasn't acceptable for human consumption. I'm a chef and things were very bland and plan. Mashed potatoes were just mushed whole red potatoes,with the skins and all herbs and something else mixed in. Coleslaw was premade not fresh. They said they had veggies but then didn't have veggies. It's not that bad to have a bag of frozen vegetables in the freezer.Maybe they have taken on something there not educated in. Second time here, worse than the first

Ordered waffles - what came was likely day-old waffles made from home and brought to the restaurant for sale in bulk.

So hard you could tapdance on your plate with them. Berries were bitter.

Asked if made fresh, told no. Iterated that they were not great and something of a negative note. Waffles remained on bill... didn't bother to ask.

Ordered a burger, it was ok. Ordered a side of bacon - it was OK. Order was supposed to come with fries... didn't get those.

Advertizing is wrong - no llbo license exists.

I will never come here again.
