A Long-Awaited Comeback to Greatness!
For years, this restaurant served one of my favorite burgers, but everything changed when they switched to pre-made patties. The quality plummeted, and it became something I couldn’t even finish. I haven’t eaten one in over six years, and honestly, I had completely written it off. But recently, I heard that they switched back to handmade patties just after Christmas, and I decided to give it another try. What a pleasant surprise!
The burger I had was incredible! The handmade patty was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—exactly what I had been missing. The bun was soft yet sturdy, much better than before, and the gravy had a rich, delicious taste that added the perfect finishing touch. You can really tell they’ve put in a lot of effort to perfect the details, and it definitely shows.
That said, there’s still a bit of room for improvement. I’d love to see the bun toasted just a little longer for a bit of extra crispness, and the gravy could still use a touch more depth in flavor—it’s almost there, but a little stronger would make it even better.
Despite those small tweaks, this burger is now back on my list of favorites, and I’ll be returning regularly from now on. It’s so refreshing to see them return to their roots and deliver something as amazing as it once was, just after Christmas. If you haven’t had one recently, I highly recommend giving it another shot—you won’t be...
Read moreThis has been my 3rd and last visit since new owners. We always go for breakfast. One experience we were in the restaurant before 11. They refused to serve us breakfast saying it. Ends at 11 and the grill is already full. Fine. I'll go some place else. After that, it took a couple months to get me back in there. Today, I went in with my mother and two young children . The waitress was an absolute doll. My mother had the two kids and we decided to sit away from everyone as kids make a lot of noise tend to throw things, being respectful of other people.you know. While I grabbed both high chairs and my mother had the children, I was struggling carrying both of them as they are not in wheels and SO MANY tables too close together. The owner, sat there and stared at me. Watched me struggle the whole time didn't offer to lend a hand at all. The waitress came from the back saw I was struggling offered immediate help. I find it funny, there were 4 other men in the restaurant and none offered to help a women struggling. I find this so repulsive.. that waitress, I hope to god you find someplace else. That manager doesn't give a god damn about women or his staff and I did take notice. The pancakes were terrible. Dry and chewy. The bacon was deep fried. Islanders at the airport is far better and way more welcoming! I will never return as long as they own it. I am also a local- I live two...
Read moreMy husband and I are on a very strict carnivore way of eating. We questioned how we would be charged if we just ate meat products. We were told we would be charged the same price if we ordered a beef burger with fries and gravy as oppose just eating with the beef itself . My husband was told five dollars for the beef burger, extra for the egg extra for the cheese extra for the bacon and then of course the cost of the pork chop itself My entrée was two beef patties with cheese and bacon and some fried onions. My husband‘s entrée was one beef patty, a fried egg cheese and bacon and he had a pork chop on the side. Our bill came to 67 and change. Sadly, we did not return to that restaurant during the duration of being in Stephenville for 14 days nor would we return to that restaurant going forward in the future the service was awesome. The waitress was a sweet lady. The food was OK. It wasn’t anything that was spectacular, but the cost was extremely high. We had no sides. We had nothing extra. It just seems to be a high...
