Islander's at the Airport — Restaurant in Stephenville

We were in town looking for a family restaurant. Something cozy like a local diner. The one we found was under transition/ renovation but somebody passing by introduced us to Islanders at the airport. We couldn't believe it. Great spot where everybody seems to know everybody. It was a little hot in there but they had fans directing the air. Because it's inside the airport, there are no windows which is a shame. We only stopped by for breakfast which was typical fare but well executed. I would like to come back and try something more elaborate. Some local music playing quietly I believe. Very friendly server. In fact, I think the cook or the owner was out hugging people at different tables. You can't beat that!...

Tucked inside the Stephenville Airport is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Food was delicious, good sized portions and freshly made. Pork chop dinner and roast beef dinner were our choices and did not disappoint! Service was super! Worth the detour either going to or from the ferry . Traditional 'boiled dinner' / 'jiggs dinner' was fantastic. Salt beef made in house, very little fat. In fact, everything about the meal was fantastic. My only regret was not ordering a 2nd plate to re-fry ro next day with butter in my cast iron skillet.

To those not from here, this may not sound overly appetizing. To those of us from here ... /drool.
