Whether vacationing on Beaver Lake or just traveling in the area, this place is a must stop, because at some point you will be hungry and you won't be disappointed. Yesterday, while passing through the area and with the plan on taking the doggos for a dip at the lake, a quick stop was made. Spinach/feta stuffed pastry, saugage in a pastry, Jamaican patty and cold drinks were in order and quietly devoured. Their most tasty sour cherry pie was picked up for the evening meal. This was our lunch stop. We ordered the Ruben and Turkey Club sandwiches to take out. The club was the best I every had, the croissant was buttery and flaky, the vegetables crunchy and juicy with the perfect amount of mayonnaise. The Ruben was great, toasted to perfection, packed with flavour and very filling. The final touch was the gherkin was the cherry on the sunday. Now we also have all those other savoury pastries that we haven't touch yet, can't wait to do so for...

We had the pleasure of making a pit stop here for lunch during a cycling trip from Toronto a few years back. This hidden gem serves delicious, fresh light lunch fare along with assorted pastries and baked goods. Great selection with prices to match! While I'm sure the locals know all about it, The River Bakery is definitely worth a visit if you're travelling through the area!The giant bagel sign outside the shop also makes for a fun photo op...
