Magic Cattle Guard Diner — Restaurant in Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality

This place saved my marriage. Me and wife (Bev) we're on the verge of divorce after I once again squandered on savings on Pumpkins well after Halloween for the third straight year. So there we sat, teary eyes ready to end it when I asked, as somberly as one could. "What can I do to make this right"....she paused, my heart racing....finally she spoke "I want the best burger this world has"..... luckily my friend Chaz had just returned from sun peaks and regaled me of tales of the town and food. I knew what we had to do. We drove, twenty seven hours straight...and let me tell you...the royal with cheese not only saved my marriage, but we're now expecting twins....

Excellent service and great food tonight at Magic Cattle Guard! Fernando started us out with an outstanding Mango Margarita. Not too sweet and the right strength to prepare us for the feast coming next. My wife loved her Smash Burger with its savory crust. My Beef Shawarma had loads of spicy tender beef beside the diced tomatoes and onions, shredded lettuce, dill pickles and delicate garlic sauce all wrapped in a pita. We complemented these with a basket of Donair Fries of crispy potatoes with shaved beef, diced tomatoes and onions topped with sweet Donair Sauce. So good that we had to take out our Brownie (not skipping that!) for midnight...

Not quite sure what to make of the extremely negative reviews as we have visited the MCG at least a dozen times since it showed up down in our area of Sun Peaks (we can walk over - main village is a nice walk too but a lot longer). Meals have never disappointed and if there is a "special" going on (bring back that chicken lasagna!) it is worth trying. Again, is a wonderful part of Sun Peaks now and ideally some space increase at some point but even if nothing changes - we are so happy MGC exists and will continue to be part of...
