There are other places to eat in town and through out surrounding towns...go check them out. You won't miss nothing here! Owner is very rude, arrogant and has zero desire to protect her employees, patrons or even herself by being MASKLESS in restaurant during the Covid pandemic!! We phoned in an order of Chicken Wings, A large Fry, wraps and Gravy on the side with two drinks for take out as per to Covid Regulations. We requested a specific time to pick up as we were only 3 minuets away. We arrived early and the order had already been piled upon the table by the door. We received our order in take-out containers. We had two separate orders, asked for bags to carry 5 large containers, coffee cup of gravy and 2 cans of pop. They didn't have any and gave us one box that could only fit 2 of the containers to our order. The French Fries were more limp then cooked, gravy and pop lived up to all expectations, funny eh. The wings were below average in size and only came in 6 pieces. All of them were very dry, 4 wings had sufficient amount of sauce, another half coated and one completely naked. The wings were Refrigerator Cold and absolutely disgusting, I will say they had to came from yesterday's left overs and just dumped into the container. So revolting that the 11 year old could only choke down one wing and the rest went to the garbage. The money spent was not worth a bite. The cost... $34.00 for one large Fry, 6 leftover day old chicken wings, gravy and 2 sodas!!! Yet they can not give you lids for ketchup containers or even a take-out bag etc. The Female server assuming the owner, lacks in Customer Skills completely and the Bistro Restaurant lacks any signage in accordance to Covid Regulations and Requirements. She told me: that anyone that does not know by now after 2 years to wear a mask is an idiot. DID I MENTION SHE WORE NO MASK!! Not impressed I wouldn't want to see the kitchen. Not worth the price of food, I will pass on this bistro for the rest of my stay...

We went to Bernard's due to its overall high review scores. The majority of reviews here are representative of our overall experience. We were warmly greeted by the owner Sandra and seated on the deck with a view of the lake. Our server Haley was friendly and attentive despite a busy lunch time crowd. We came so close to a great lunch. Even my sandwich which was incorrect (ordered toasted and came not toasted) was still good. In fact I had eaten most of it when Sandra asked how our food was. I said, "good, but the sandwich was supposed to be toasted". The response I got was "Oh well. The kitchen is busy." My second attempt at an acknowledgement did not go any better. Sandra shrugged her shoulders and told me to "write her up." So that's what I am doing. I felt her to be dismissive, condescending and not at all interested in her customer. Unfortunately what followed next after Sandra tried to confront one my friends about how rude I was, was an unnecessary and embarrassing exchange between myself and Sandra. If any patrons there that day were upset by what was said, I truly apologize. If Sandra had tried a different response than "oh well" this would be a five star review rather than a one. It is possible to have a great meal here. Just don't tell Sandra anything is wrong or out of place. Based on the few bad reviews of this place they are all...

Just stopped here with my family for lunch. The location has huge potential but our visit today was extremely disappointing. I should have raised a red flag when the server told me that there was no menu and to go outside and take a photo of a chalk board with my phone. There were several menu items that were “sold out” or unavailable but they were still on the chalkboard. The staff was rude to everyone who came in and it felt like our presence annoyed them. One of the servers- An older woman who seemed to be in charge, was talking on her cell phone when customers were trying to order from her. The woman at the next table over asked for a half pint of beer and the server told her she didn’t know if she could do it and didn’t know the price. She then delivered a foamy glass of beer to the table. We ordered some basic pub food which arrived cold and was not very impressive for the price. Nobody came out to check on us during our meal or ask if we needed anything. A 20% gratuity is posted as automatically applied to the bill. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had and I’ve travelled all of Canada and the...

My partner and I came here during a weekend while at Deer Lake Wilderness Retreat. Our server was very friendly and loved chatting with her. Our wings were hot and juicy. Honestly top-tier. Shrimp basket was great. Nicely fried. Cauliflower bites were ok! Not the best but not the worst! Thanks for making our evening great!

Really enjoyed Bernard's Bistro. Service was friendly and prompt and food was homemade and reasonably priced. We had fish and chips and a chicken caesar wrap with tomato basil soup. Lovely screened in porch overlooking the lake. We will back to try the homemade desserts next time!
